The EAMCET Admissions exam is based on the rank secured by students in the Entrance Examinations.

•  70 % of the seats are allotted based on merit in the Engineering, Agricultural and Pharmacy Common Entrance Test (TGEAPCET) conducted by the Govt. of Telangana.
•  30 % of the seats are earmarked for Management / NRI candidates.
• Based on merit in the Engineering Common Entrance Test (TGECET), under the lateral entry scheme conducted by the Govt. of Telangana.

The meaning and the eligibility for admission into that category are given below:

• Category-A Seats: 70% of the total intake is earmarked for this category. These seats are filled by the Convenor, EAMCET Admissions, based on the ranks secured by students in the Entrance Examinations. To be admitted in this category, the candidate should have passed the qualifying exam (10+2) or its equivalent.
• Category-B Seats: 30% of the Intake is earmarked for this category. These seats are filled at the College level as per the guidelines issued by the State Government.
• Lateral Entry Seats Direct Admission into Second Year of B.Tech. ): 10% of the total intake is earmarked for Direct admission into B.Tech.Tech II year under Lateral Entry. These seats are filled by the Convenor, ECET Admissions, based on the students' ranks in the Entrance Examinations.

Pass in the Intermediate (10 + 2) conducted by the Board of Intermediate Education, Govt. of Telangana, or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto, with Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry as optional subjects. The minimum eligibility criteria: At least 45% and 40% marks for candidates belonging to the unreserved and reserved categories, respectively, in the subjects specified taken together at 10+2 pattern.

B. Tech (Lateral Entry) : 

The Diploma or B.Sc (Mathematics) candidates must pass the qualifying exam with at least 45% marks, while reserved category candidates have to secure 40% marks.
