Admission Details
For the admission process, the Institute follows the guidelines of admission rules/procedure prescribed by the Joint Entrance Examination, Orissa, for its regular courses. Candidates not qualified in JEE shall not be allowed admission.
For admission into the 1st year B.Tech program, a student has to appear for the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination(OJEE) OR Joint Entrance Examination (JEE-MAIN) conducted by CBSE.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates with a +2 Science background conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Orissa or equivalent examination recognized by BPUT are admitted to the B. Tech Programme through the rank attained in JEE, Orissa. 85% of the seats are filled through the entrance tests, and the remaining 15% of seats under the NRI quota are filled on merit at the institute level. Diploma holders and science graduates are also eligible for direct admission into the IInd year B.Tech. Courses under the lateral entry scheme as per the rules of the Government of Orissa & the relevant Joint Entrance Examination.
After successful completion of +2 Science with Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/ Computer Science with a minimum of 45% of aggregate marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST category) in Physics, Mathematics & Chemistry /Biology/Biotechnology/Computer Science is a must. .
Passed Bachelor’s Degree Examination of three years duration in Science from the University of Odisha or a recognized University as defined by UGC, with at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST category) and must have passed XII standard with Mathematics as a subject.
Passed three years of diploma examinations (two years in case of Lateral entry Diploma) in Engineering /Technology from the State Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (SCTE&VT). The lower age is 14 Years, and no bar for the upper age.
