Candidates from other states irrespective of their community are considered as OC (Other Community)

Lateral Entry – Direct to Second Year B.E./B.TECH

Other Communities (OC) :

The candidate who has passed in a 3-year Diploma examination conducted by the State Board of Technical Education of respective states in the relevant subjects with a minimum of 55% marks in the final year examination. Pass in any recognized bachelor’s degree in science of minimum 3 years duration with Mathematics as a subject.

Backward Class Community (BC) of Tamil Nadu:

An aggregate of 50% marks in the final year diploma examination / Final year B.Sc.degree course.

Most Backward Class Community (MBC) of Tamil Nadu:

An aggregate of 45% marks in the final year diploma examination / final year B.Sc.degree course.

SC/ST Community of Tamil Nadu:

Merit pass is enough in the Diploma Course / B.Sc. Degree course.

The candidate who has passed the 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subjects/ Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Informatics Practices/ Agriculture/ Engineering Graphics/ Business Studies. Obtained at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together. OR Passed Diploma (in Engineering and Technology) examination with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category), subject to vacancies in the First Year, in case the vacancies at lateral entry are exhausted.
