Mere pass in 12th standard or equivalent with Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry. The Candidate should produce the Community Certificate duly signed by the Tahsildar.

Candidates from other states irrespective of their community are considered as OC (Other Community)

Lateral Entry – Direct to Second Year B.E./B.TECH

Other Communities (OC) :

The candidate who has passed in a 3-year Diploma examination conducted by the State Board of Technical Education of respective states in the relevant subjects with a minimum of 55% marks in the final year examination. Pass in any recognized bachelor’s degree in science of minimum 3 years duration with Mathematics as a subject.

Backward Class Community (BC) of Tamil Nadu:

An aggregate of 50% marks in the final year diploma examination / Final year B.Sc.degree course.

Most Backward Class Community (MBC) of Tamil Nadu:

An aggregate of 45% marks in the final year diploma examination / final year B.Sc.degree course.

SC/ST Community of Tamil Nadu:

Merit pass is enough in the Diploma Course / B.Sc. Degree course.

Candidates seeking admission to the first semester of the eight-semester B.E. Degree Programme:

Should have passed the Higher Secondary Examinations of (10+2) Curriculum (Academic Stream) prescribed by the Government of Tamil Nadu with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as three of the four subjects of study under Part-III or any examination of any other University or authority accepted by the Syndicate of Anna University as equivalent thereto.

Should have passed the Higher Secondary Examination of Vocational stream (Vocational groups in Engineering / Technology) as prescribed by the Government of Tamil Nadu.

Lateral entry admission

• The candidates who possess the Diploma in Engineering / Technology awarded by the State Board of Technical Education, Tamil Nadu or its equivalent are eligible to apply for Lateral entry admission to the third semester of B.E. / B.Tech., as per the rules fixed by the Government of Tamil Nadu

• The candidates who possess a Degree in Science (B.Sc.) (10+2+3 stream) with Mathematics as a subject at the B.Sc. Level are eligible to apply for Lateral entry admission to the third semester of B.E. / B.Tech.
