Passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subject/ Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Informatics Practices/ Agriculture/ Engineering Graphics/ Business Studies. Obtained at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together. OR Passed Diploma (in Engineering and Technology) examination with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) subject to vacancies in the First Year, in case the vacancies at lateral entry are exhausted.

A pass in the HSC (Academic) or its equivalent, with a minimum average percentage in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry, is given below.

First-Year Admission (HSC Academic Stream) requires a pass in HSC (Academic) or equivalent with the following minimum combined average in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry:

• Backward Class (including BC Muslim): 40.00%

• MBC & DNC: 40.00%

• SC / SCA / ST: 40.00%

First-Year Admission (HSC Vocational Stream) requires a pass in HSC (Vocational) with at least one engineering subject (Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry) and the following minimum combined average in Related Subjects, Vocational Theory, and Practicals:

• Backward Class (including BC Muslim): 40.00%

• MBC & DNC: 40.00%

• SC / SCA / ST: 40.00%

Direct Second-Year / Lateral Entry Admission (Diploma & B.Sc Candidates) requires the following minimum eligibility marks for entry into second-year B.E / B.Tech degree courses (Government Quota):

• General Category: 55.00%

• Backward Class (including BC Muslim): 50.00%

• Most Backward Class & Denotified Communities (MBC & DNC): 45.00%

• SC / SCA / ST: Mere pass in the qualifying examination
