    Admission Details

    Entrance Exam

    • Candidates should qualify in the Engineering Entrance Exam, KEAM, conducted by the Commissioner of Entrance Exams, Govt. of Kerala to be eligible for admission in all seats, other than the NRI quota. 
    • Admission is based on merit. Mark obtained in the Entrance examination is taken to determine the merit along with the marks of Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry/equivalent of the qualifying examination. 
    • 50% of the total seats in B.Tech courses are set apart for centralized allotment by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations. 15% of seats within the sanctioned intake are provided for the NRI category and are given based on marks obtained for PCM in the 12th standard. The remaining seats are Management seats, allotted on merit by ranking applicants based on marks obtained for PCM (12th standard only) and Kerala Engineering Entrance Examination.

    B.TECH LATERAL ENTRY

    • Lateral Entry Scheme is intended to admit meritorious Diploma holders to the Second Year/Third Semester of the B. Tech courses to acquire a Degree in Engineering. The lateral Entry Scheme is approved by the Government of Kerala for 10% of the sanctioned seats in addition to total seats.

    Eligibility Criteria

    Candidates who have passed the Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala, or Examinations recognized as equivalent thereto, with at least 45% marks in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry/equivalent subjects put together or equivalent grades are eligible for admission. Rounding off of the percentage of marks to the nearest whole number is not permitted.

    Eligibility for Admission in

    1. Govt. Quota

    1a. Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala, or Examinations recognized as equivalent thereto, with 50% marks in Mathematics separately, and 50 % marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM), put together, are eligible for Govt quota admission.

    2. Management Quota

    (i) Candidates who have passed the Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala, or Examinations with marks in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry put together are eligible for admission. However, candidates who have passed the Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala, or Examinations recognized as equivalent thereto, with 45% marks in Mathematics, Physics,  and Chemistry put togethe,r are eligible for admission under  Management Quota in Private Self-Financing Engineering Colleges/controlled financing Engineering Colleges. In case the candidates have not studied Chemistry, the marks obtained in Computer Science shall be considered. In case the candidate has not studied Chemistry and Computer Science, the marks obtained in Biotechnology shall be considered. In case the candidate has not studied Chemistry, Computer Science, and Biotechnology, the marks obtained in Biology shall be considered. The marks as shown in the mark list of the Board of Examination obtained from the respective Higher Secondary Board shall be considered for academic eligibility.

    3. Lateral Entry

    • 3-year diploma holders in Engineering, having 50% marks in the final diploma examination, are also eligible for admission to second-year BTech.

    4. Lateral Entry (Management Quota) 

    • 3-year diploma holders in Engineering, having passed marks in the final diploma examination, are also eligible for admission to the second-year BTech.
