    Admission Details

    Admission to the Semester -I of the program shall be given on all the government, grant-in-aid and Higher Payment (Self financed –unaided) seats on the basis of merit list prepared by the Admission Committee taking into consideration the mandatory requirements of Bar Council of India with regard to commencement of the teaching process, the admission process will commence soon after the declaration of the final semester graduation examination of main common streams of Graduation i.e. Arts, Commerce and Science at the Gujarat University.

    Admission is based on merit computed based on marks secured in the qualifying examination.

    Eligibility Criteria

    • For the purpose of admission, a candidate shall have passed the qualifying Graduation Degree Examination recognized by the UGC as well as BCI.

    • A candidate who has passed the qualifying examination with minimum 45 % of marks or equivalent grade (Both at the aggregate in graduation and in last two semesters of qualifying examination) shall be eligible for admission. The candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) will be given exemption of 5 % from the above criteria. (Minimum 40% for the candidates of SC and ST categories) and the candidates belonging to SEBC category will be given exemption of 3 % (Minimum 42 % for the candidates of SEBC Category); Provided that such a minimum qualifying marks shall not automatically entitle a candidate to get admission in any of the Center of Legal Education but shall only entitle the candidate concerned to fulfill basic criteria fixed by the Bar Council of India or other equivalent authority as well as the Gujarat University from time to time to apply for the admission.

    • A candidate who has passed the last examination from other than Gujarat University are required to obtain On Line Provisional Eligibility Certificate (PEC) from the Gujarat University. The candidates who have passed the last examination from any University situated out of the State of Gujarat are required to obtain On Line Provisional Eligibility Certificate (PEC) from the Gujarat University before on-line applying for admission. However, the candidates who have passed last examination from any university other than the Gujarat University, situated within the State of Gujarat are required to take On Line Provisional Eligibility Certificate (PEC) from the Gujarat University only after securing admission in any of the law Colleges affiliated with the Gujarat University in the first term itself. If a candidate has not passed Graduation Examination or qualifying graduation/equivalent examination from any University not recognized by the UGC, the Gujarat University shall have all the rights to refuse to grant Provisional Eligibility Certificate (PEC) and admission of such candidate, if granted by any college shall automatically stand cancelled. The candidates who have taken admission and/or passed any other programme from the Gujarat University after having passed Qualifying Examination (Graduation) from other University need not have to obtain Provisional Eligibility Certificate (PEC). the candidate who have passed the qualifying examination from the Gujarat University and thereafter pursued any other programme from other University are required to obtain On Line Provisional Eligibility Certificate (PEC) in any of the aforesaid manner.

    • No student shall be allowed to simultaneously register for a law degree programme with any other graduate or postgraduate or professional course run by the same or any other University or an Institute for academic or professional learning excepting in the Three Years’ Law Degree Programme of the Gujarat University or any other University or Professional Institute Courses.

    • The maximum age for seeking admission is limited to 30 years as on 01.06.2021. However, in case of applicants from SC and ST categories the maximum age limit for seeking admission shall be 35 years as on 01.06.2021. As per the interim order of the Supreme Court, any candidate exceeding above age may apply and take conditional admission on furnishing undertaking at the concerned Center of Legal Education to the effect that his/her admission will be subject to the approval of the Bar Council of India as well as final decision of the Supreme Court.

    • No candidate shall be permitted to fill in the form after the cut-off date declared by the University for applying for Three Years’ LL.B. Semester – I Programme is over. If the result of the candidate is not declared or withheld by the University due to any reason till the cut-off date of making on line application, the candidate shall not be eligible to apply on line at the mentioned programme.
