Admission Details
Admission is based on JEE and MHT CET.
All admission are through Centralized Admission Process (CAP) of the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Maharashtra. All seats are filled on the basis on Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT-CET) and The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main). BIT offers 51% seats for Hindi linguistic students (Students whose mothertonge is Hindi)
Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility criteria for Maharashtra State Candidate:
1. Candidate should be an Indian National and
2. Passed HSC or its equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or Technical or Vocational subjects and obtained at least 50 % marks (at least 45% marks, in case of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only) in the above subjects taken together; OR Passed Diploma in Engineering and Technology and obtained at least 50% marks (at least 45 % marks, in case of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only); OR Passed B.Sc. Degree from a Recognised University as defined by UGC and obtained at least 50 % marks (at least 45 % marks, in case of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only);
3. Obtained score in CET conducted by the Competent Authority.
For Maharashtra State Candidature Candidate and All India Candidature Candidate.
1. The Candidate must be an Indian National.
2. Passed the 3 year Post-SSC or Post-HSC Diploma Course in Engineering/Technology with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates of backward class categories and Physically Handicapped belonging only to Maharashtra State) in appropriate branch of Engineering / Technology from an AICTE approved Institution with English as the medium of instruction at Diploma level. OR Passed B.Sc. Degree from a University Grants Commission (UGC) or Association of Indian Universities recognized University with at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability belonging to Maharashtra State only) and passed HSC with Mathematics as a subject Provided that students belonging to this category shall clear the subjects of Engineering Graphics/ Engineering Drawing and Engineering Mechanics of the first year Engineering Program along with second year subjects.
3. Any other criterion declared by appropriate authority from time to time.
Maharashtra State Candidature Candidates
The Candidate should be an Indian National:
Passed HSC or its equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry / Biotechnology /Biology / Technical/Vocational subjects, and obtained at least 45% marks (at least 40% marks, in case of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability belonging to Maharashtra State only) in the above subjects taken together.
The Candidate should have appeared in all the subjects in CET and should have obtained a non-zero score in CET conducted by the Competent Authority.
OR
Passed Diploma in Engineering and Technology and obtained at least 50% marks (at least 45% marks, in case of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability candidates of Maharashtra State only)
All India Candidature Candidates, Jammu and Kashmir Migrant Candidature Candidates.
Similar to the conditions above, except JEE Main Paper I marks will be considered. Preference shall be given to the candidate who obtained a non-zero positive score in JEE (Main) Paper I over candidates who obtained a non-zero score in CET.
B.Tech. Direct Second Year (Lateral Entry)
The Candidate should be an Indian National;
Passed Diploma Course in Engineering and Technology with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability belonging to Maharashtra State only) in an appropriate branch of Engineering and Technology from the All India Council for Technical Education or a Central or State Government-approved Institution or its equivalent:

Passed B.Sc. Degree from a University Grants Commission (UGC) or Association of Indian Universities recognized University with at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability belonging to Maharashtra State only) and passed HSC with Mathematics as a subject: Provided that students belonging to this category shall clear the subjects of Engineering Graphics/ Engineering Drawing and Engineering Mechanics of the first year Engineering Program along with second year subjects.
Any other criterion declared from time to time by the appropriate statutory authority.
