Admission Details
Admission Procedure run by Government of Maharashtra, State Common Entrance Test Cell, Mumbai on the basis of MHT-CET/NEET score. The MHT-CET test is conducted by the Government of Maharashtra, Admission Regulatory Commission and State Common Entrance Test Cell, Mumbai.
The admission shall be on the basis of MHT CET entrance exam.
Eligibility Criteria
(1) Maharashtra State Candidature Candidates:
(i) The candidate should be a citizen of India;
(ii) The candidate should have passed 10+2 examination or its equivalent examination with English as one of the subjects and Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Biology as optional subjects individually:
“Provided that, the students possessing 10+2 qualification from non-formal and non-class rooms based schooling such as National Institute of Open Schooling, open school systems of States etc. shall not be eligible for admission to B.Pharm Course”;
OR
(iii) Any other qualification approved by the Pharmacy Council of India as equivalent to any of the above examinations; and
(iv) The candidate should have appeared in all the subjects and should obtain non zero score in MHT-CET conducted by the Competent Authority.
(2) All India Candidature Candidates:
(i) The candidate should be a citizen of India;
(ii) The candidate should have passed 10+2 examination or its equivalent examination with English as one of the subjects and Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Biology as optional subjects individually:
“Provided that, the students possessing 10+2 qualification from non-formal and non-class rooms based schooling such as National Institute of Open Schooling, open school systems of States etc. shall not be eligible for admission to B.Pharm Course”;
OR
(iii) Any other qualification approved by the Pharmacy Council of India as equivalent to any of the above examinations; and
(iv) The candidate should obtain non zero positive score in National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) or the candidate should have appeared in all the subjects in MHT-CET and should obtain non zero score in MHT-CET conducted by the Competent Authority;
Provided that, preference shall be given to the candidate obtaining non zero positive score in National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) over the candidates who obtained non zero score in MHT-CET.
(3) NRI / OCI / PIO, Children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries, Foreign National Candidature Candidates:
(i) The candidate should have passed 10+2 examination or its equivalent examination conducted by the respective State or Central Government authorities recognized as equivalent to 10+2 examination with English as one of the subjects and Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Biology as optional subjects individually:
Provided that, the students possessing 10+2 qualification from non-formal and non-class rooms based schooling such as National Institute of Open Schooling, open school systems of States etc. shall not be eligible for admission to B. Pharm Course; and
(ii) Any other eligibility criteria and requirement declared from time to time by the appropriate authority as defined under the Act.
B) Direct Second Year (Lateral Entry) Admission- for Maharashtra State Candidature Candidates and All India Candidature Candidates:-
(i) The candidate should be a citizen of India;
(ii) The candidate should have passed in D. Pharm. Course from an Institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India under section 12 of the Pharmacy Act, 1948 (8 of 1948); and
(iii) Any other eligibility criteria and requirement declared from time to time by the appropriate authority as defined under the Act.
The minimum qualification required for admission to the course is as indicated below:
A). Candidate should be an Indian National and should have passed the HSC (Std.XII) examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with subjects English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology /Mathematics AND Secured minimum 50 % marks i.e. not less than 150 marks out of 300 marks (minimum 45 % marks i.e. not less than 135 marks out of 300 marks in case of candidates of Backward class categories belonging only to Maharashtra State) in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Mathematics added together (Maximum of marks obtained in Biology/Mathematics shall be considered for the purpose of addition) AND Obtained a non zero score at MHT-CET. If seat remains vacant after the completion of C.A.P. rounds the non-MHT CET candidates may be considered for institutional level admissions subject to Approval of DTE / Pravesh Niyantran Samiti.
B). Candidate should have passed Diploma course in pharmacy with min. 50 % marks from the Polytechnics affiliated to MSBTE or AICTE approved autonomous polytechnics in or outside Maharashtra.
Direct Admissions in Second Year B.Pharma:
The Candidate must be an Indian National and should have passed Post-SSC or Post-HSC Diploma Course in Pharmacy with at least 50.00 % marks (45.00 % marks in case of candidates of Backward class categories belonging only to Maharashtra State) from an AICTE approved Institution with English as the medium of instruction at Diploma level. The prevailing rules and regulations for admissions by DTE & PNS & University of Pune are mandatory.
