Admission is based on the Entrance Test conducted by the university.

a) Secondary Examination passed (10th standard) Percentage of marks: At least 50% of mark in aggregate (except additional subject) for General/OBC/Sports Quota Candidates and 40% for SC/ST/Physically Challenged. 

b) Higher Secondary Examination passed (10+2) with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Percentage of marks: At least 50% of mark in aggregate in the aforesaid 4 (four) subjects for General/OBC/Sports Quota Candidates and 40% for SC/ST/Physically Challenged Candidates.

• 10+2/Intermediate/ Higher Secondary or equivalent examination conducted by an Education Board/University/Council (duly recognized by the H.P. Board of School Education, Dharamshala /MHRD, New Delhi) with not less than pass marks in each subject. 
• PCB/PCM/PCA/Intermediate (Agriculture) and English (as a core course){P-Physics, C-Chemistry, B-Biology, M-Mathematics & A-Agriculture} 
• 50% marks for General/OBC category (40% for SC/ST/Person with Benchmark Disability category) in aggregate of English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Mathematics/Agriculture. 

Or

• Any examination of a University/Education Board/College/School in a foreign country recognized as equivalent for the purpose by the University with good knowledge of English.
