Candidates seeking admission to B. P. Ed Degree course should be below 26 years of age, 28 years age for SC/ST and Cat-I, as on 1St July of the year of admission. The age is relaxable up to 30 years for outstanding sportspersons. Outstanding sports person means a candidate who has participated in recognized Inter-University/Inter-State/Inter-National sports or games competitions. However in case of in-service candidates trained Physical Education Teachers and coaches, the age is relaxed up to 35 years, subject to the condition that, they are medically fit. All candidates shall produce a medical fitness certificate issued by a medical officer of not less than the rank of district surgeon along with the application.

NOTE: Compulsory physical fitness test (N.P.F.P) will be conducted by the college/department at University College of Physical Education ground for the selection of an eligible candidate for B.P. Ed course.

Admission shall be made on merit based on marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or in the entrance examination or any other selection process as per the policy of the state government/U.T. Administration and the university.

Any graduate of Bangalore University or of any other University recognized by the Bangalore University as equivalent thereto who is physically fit and satisfies any of the following conditions will be eligible for admission to B. P. Ed. Degree Course. 

• Graduate in Physical Education i.e., B.P.E of three-year duration with 45% marks. OR Graduate with at-least 40% marks, having represented State/University: Sports/ Games/Athletics/as per the list of sports of A.I.U. OR Graduate with at-least 40% marks who has secured 1st, 2nd or 3rd position in University Inter-Collegiate sports/games tournaments or possessing NCC ‘C’ Certificate or passed basic course in adventure sports OR Graduate with at-least 45% having marks participated in Inter collegiate/Inter-District/Divisional Level Sports/Games tournament OR Graduate with at-least 45% marks and one year training programme in sports science, sports management sports coaching, Yoga, Olympic Education, sports Journalism etc. Physical fitness of the candidates is assessed by administering the National Physical Fitness Program Tests of India as indicated in Regulation 6. 
• Candidates seeking admission to B. P. Ed Degree course should be below 26 years of age, 28 years age for SC/ST and Cat-I, as on 1St July of the year of admission. All candidates shall produce a medical fitness certificate issued by a medical officer of not less than the rank of district surgeon along with the application. 
• There shall be reserved seats for SC/ST/Cat-I as per the rules of the Karnataka State Government.

1) A citizen of India who has passed any Bachelor's degree examination of Bangalore University or any University in India or abroad recognised as equivalent through 10+2+3/4/5 pattern of education, who has obtained 50% of marks in aggregate of all the subjects he/she has studied for the degree, is eligible for admission to B.Ed. programme. 

2) The candidate with less than 50% aggregate in the degree, but a Master's Degree with 50% is also eligible for B.Ed. programme. 

3) In the case of SC/ST, Category-1 -1 and physically challenged students, 45% marks in aggregate of all the subjects he/she has studied for the degree course or 45% in post-graduation. 

4) A candidate for admission to the degree of education (B.Ed.) must fulfil the eligibility criteria as per the directives of the Government of Karnataka from time to time.
