• The student has passed the Seeking admission to a 3-year law course. Qualifications needed are only 12th and a three-year graduation, with 12th being the basic qualification for seeking admission into a 3-year law course,
• The qualifications of 10th, 12th (+2), and graduation may be obtained through any mode (distance/correspondence / open schooling method).
• The pass percentage is 45% for the general category, 42% for the OBC category, and 40% for the SC/ST category.

1. To be eligible for admission, a candidate should have passed any Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or possess such academic qualification which is considered equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree by the Pondicherry University and the Bar Council of India. A candidate who has obtained his/her degree after pursuing studies in distance or correspondence method shall also be considered as eligible for admission in the three-year LL.B. course.

Explanation: The candidates who have obtained a graduation through the open university system directly without having any basic qualification for pursuing such studies are not eligible for admission in the course.

In case of candidates possessing a Bachelor’s Degree as stipulated above and holding a post-graduate degree as well, only the degree at the bachelor level will be considered for eligibility for admission.

2. Further, the candidates applying for admission to this course should have secured 45% of marks in the qualifying examination. However, in the case of candidates belonging to Puducherry Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe, 40% marks in the qualifying examination is enough.

3. The upper age limit- As decided by the Bar Council of India from time to time.
