• Passed 10+2 or its equivalent from a Board recognized by the University of Calcutta.
• 10+2 Level Marks obtained from the Board recognized by the University of Calcutta : GENERAL: At least 45% marks in the best four subjects. (Excluding Environmental Studies of WBCHSE). SC/ST/PERSON WITH DISABILITY (Disability 40% or more): At least 40% marks in the best four subjects. (Excluding Environmental Studies of WBCHSE).
• Candidates who passed 10+2 from the Board other than WBCHSE, ISC, CBSE, and Rabindra Mukto Vidyalay must obtain an “EQUIVALENCE CERTIFICATE” from the office of the Registrar ( Equivalence Section) University of Calcutta, 87/1, College Street, Kolkata-700073 by a written application in plain paper with a relevant photocopy of 10+2 Mark Sheet. The certificate will be required at the time of Admission. It will be safe to obtain the certificate before online application submission.

A candidate for admission to the B.A.LL.B.(Honours) must have –

(a) Passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) or an equivalent examination securing in aggregate not less than 45% (General Category) or 40% (SC/ST and OBC Category) of the total marks. Those who will be passing their Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent examinations this year can go through the selection process and seek provisional admission.

(b) Not completed 20 years of age as on 1st July or as shall be prescribed by the Bar Council of India for that academic session. In case of candidates belonging to the SC/ST category, a relaxation of two years in age shall be admissible as per the Bar Council of India rules, 2008. In exceptional and deserving cases, the upper age limit may be relaxed by the Director at Kolkata.
