    The Admission Procedure is based On the Merit

    Eligibility Criteria

    A candidate for admission to the B.A.LL.B.(Honours) must have –

    (a) Passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) or an equivalent examination securing in aggregate not less than 45% (General Category) or 40% (SC/ST and OBC Category) of the total marks. Those who will be passing their Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent examinations this year can go through the selection process and seek provisional admission.

    (b) Not completed 20 years of age as on 1st July or as shall be prescribed by the Bar Council of India for that academic session. In case of candidates belonging to the SC/ST category, a relaxation of two years in age shall be admissible as per the Bar Council of India rules, 2008. In exceptional and deserving cases, the upper age limit may be relaxed by the Director at Kolkata.

    Any person who passed the H.S. (10+2 level) examination with a minimum of 45% (40% in case of S.C.; S.T.; and P.H.) marks in aggregate (taking into consideration the best of 4 papers excluding WBCHSE Environment Science) will be eligible for admission to the B.A.LL.B., Course; the person appearing in the (10+2 level) examination will be allowed to sit the Entrance Examination. But their admission to the B.A.LL.B., Course will be subject to the condition of successful completion of (10+2 level) Examination at the time of Counseling of the admission.
