The Admission Procedure is based on the as per the revised regulation of Kannur University, (No. Acad/C4/14536/2014 dated 29/05/15) under Clause 4.1, admission to MA programme will be made purely based on an entrance test to be conducted by the Department of Studies in English at Dr. Janaki Ammal Campus, Palayad, Thalassery Written test will be based on BA English Language and Literature syllabus of Kannur University. The test will be of two hours' duration, and the questions comprise both objective and descriptive modes.

A candidate who has passed Bachelor degree of 3 years duration (B.A. or equivalent) under 10+2+3 pattern from any recognized university.

The Candidates seeking admission to the programme shall be required to have obtained a Bachelor's degree (under 10+2+3 pattern) of this University or any other Indian or foreign University recognised by Kannur University with a minimum of 50 per cent marks in aggregate in the qualifying examination. Candidates belonging to socially and economically backward communities (OBC) are eligible for a relaxation of 5 per cent marks in the qualifying examination. Those belonging to scheduled castes/scheduled tribes who need only a pass in the qualifying degree examination are to apply for admission to the programme.
