To qualify for NIT, you need to clear the cutoff in JEE-Mains. If you qualify in JEE-Mains, the aggregate marks is considered for qualifying for JEE-Advanced. So, 75% aggregate is required (the marks in english + marks in 4 subjects).

yes, it is necessary to qualify in both of the papers, and your marks in each paper should be equal or more than the cutoff marks in each of the papers. however there is also individual cutoff marks you need to get in each paper. both of the papers
