1.No.of candidates who appeared for exam.

2.No.of vacancies available.

3.Level of difficulty

With this much marks and as you said your category is SC you have fairly decent chances of getting a call from PSUs. You can appear in BARC, ISRO, apply for Vizag STEEL.

Chemistry graduates who take GATE (CY), can get jobs in PSUs like ONGC, IOCL (Assistant Officer - Quality Control with minimum 2 years of experience), DRDO (Scientist Grade B), BARC (Scientist Grade B), MECL. You can also apply to Cabinet Secretariat for the post of Scientist.

Your score and rank is very good.As per the previous year cutoffs for PSUs you have a good chance of getting the call from PSUs.The PSUs which may call you are IOCL,BHEL, PGCIL,NTPC,HPCL,GAIL,etc.So be prepared for the interviews and GD.All the best

To get into PSUs you need a rank within few hundreds like 200-300.IT need more than 75 marks in GATE .It depends on the number of vacancies and the number of companies recruiting that particular year.

There might be slight variation in cut off of each companies.
