Your gate score is quite good.With a score of 728 and AIR of 51 you wiill surely get an interview call from BARC or top most PSUs such as IOCL,RINL, SAIL etc.I suggest you to prepare well for the interviews.

hello bharath, for general category getting a psu's is really hard. according to psu's no of vacancy it is really hard to get a call if your rank is above 200-250. i hope you have understand. you may apply in state electricity board examination where gate score is not mandatory.

Barc Cutoff will change every year..it will depend on Exam difficulty and Number of applicants each year.

Barc 2018 cutoffs are below

Civil-849

Electrical-818

Electronics-813

Mechanical-828

Computer science-838

According to this you will get the call this year..For more information you can research for 2017 cutoffs..It was less then 2018.so

Usually the cut off for different colleges are high for ME branch.In that case if you are from GEN/OBC you will not get even NITs or IIITs or GFTIs .

But if you belong to SC/ST then you have chances that you might get NIT /IIITs and GFTIs

As per youe score in GATE 2019 to get PSU is difficult. Generally in mechanical the total score should be above 800 for OBC category.

This year paper was little easy one. So the cutoff for all PSUs will not come to lower than 70 marks more chance is that it will be even more than 75. So by getting 40.33 you have very low chances for getting any psu for this marks.
