The gate cutoffs for psu requirement are based on many factors like the number of applicants, the number of posts that are vacant, the difficulty level of gate papers etc.

Hello Ragul,

As you mentioned your gate score is 52 and with this score you can go for some good nits of your choice  .But it will be little bit tough for you to get in IITs .

see there are not a lot of people applying in petroleum engineering. and the recruitment for petroleum is not very large on PSU. but the oil sector like iocl, ongc, bpcl etc takes student through gate score. you should apply all of this psu'spsu's. for PSU recruitment alert

If you are in General Category then PSU's chances are nil. If your AIR would have been less than 350 then the chances would have been there.

Coming to IIT's, yes you can get into top IIT's except Bombay, Delhi, or even KGP and Madras. Other than these

Gate score for iit's - 

Iit's cutoff for gate is the minimum score required for admission into mtech programmes across various iit's. Candidates who scored equal marks or more than cutoff of marks of gate iit's will be considered for admission into mtech programmes.
