that is a good marks in GATE. you have a good chance to get call from PSUs. but not enough for PSUs like NTPC. ONGC etc.

If are getting a rank of below 500 then you are having a 100 % chance of getting shorlisted for any Psu's. The selection will depend upon how you perform your interview conducted by hem.

As you have mentioned that you can get a rank between 246-269. Awesome

rank around 2000 at these marks. i'm afraid no PSU at that rank. this year ee exam was way too easy. even the guys getting 75+ are getting 1200+ ranks

that's a wide range but still you'll get interview calls from every PSU and i'm certain you'll get a PSU at these marks. your worst rank can be around 1500 at 73 and best below 1000 at 78. So a PSU is certain. just prepare well for the interviews. good

There are less chances for you unless you have any reservation catogery as the PSU recruited the rank below only 100 in own catogery as your score is above 100 so you can get a very good IIT seat with your rank , so all the best for yourf future

We could have helped you in more better way if you would have told us your branch. Branch plays a major role in PSU. In mechanical branch the compitition is very high compared to instrumentation. 

But anyways, with 49 marks you have very less chanes of getting into PSUs.
