what about aeronautics for Careear

Heena Agrawal 16th Jun, 2021

hi..

Aircraft are being enhanced to generate less noise pollution and have improved fuel effectiveness, which will take further research and development. Aeronautical Engineers are on global demand. Students can specialize in any particular aerospace product of their choice like helicopters, rockets, jets, planes, remotely piloted aircraft and rotorcraft; spacecraft, including launch vehicles and satellites; and military missiles.

Aerospace engineers primarily for firms that engage in manufacturing, analysis and design, research and development, and for the government. Additionally, B.Tech. graduates can also go into the armed forces (Army, Air Force, and Navy).

What is the Difference Between Aeronautical and Aerospace Engineering?

Rajeswari 24th Jul, 2021

Hello,

The field of Aerospace Engineering is a broader and advanced term compared to Aeronautical Engineering Aerospace engineers develop new technologies for use in aviation defense systems & spacecraft

Aerospace engineering focuses on designing both aircraft and spacecraft and it is a study of all the space crafts used within and out of the earth atmosphere while Aeronautical Engineering is the study of aircraft that operates within the earth atmosphere

Aeronautical Engineering focuses on designing aircraft

helicopters

airplanes and study of subjects such as Thermodynamics

Heat Transfer

In Aerospace Engineering they will learn subjects like- Spacecraft Design Introduction to Astronautics Fundamentals of Jet Propulsion

Spacecraft Dynamics

Either you take the aerospace or aeronautical engineering there are certain subjects common for both the degrees

aerospace engineering is the superset and aeronautical engineering is a subdivision of it

There are immense opportunities for aerospace engineers in countries like the United States of America France the UK and Germany.

Hope it helpful

Thankyou.

What is the difference in aeronautical and aerospace engineering ?

Bhavesh gupta 24th Jul, 2021

Hello aspirant

i hope you are doing good and fine

As per your query, I would glad to inform you that aerospace study deals with the  spacecrafts used out of the earth toppest layer whereas aeronautical  study deals with study of spacecrafts used in the earth atmoshphere. If you want to work in the aircraft building industry then aerospace engineering is the right course for you. However, if you look forward to work in the space industry, then aeronautical engineering is the right branch for you

If you have any other doubt then you can always reach us to clear them :)

we are always available to help you out and guide you

Thankyou

hello everyone, my tancet score is 23.66 and percentile score is 87%. i applied for M.TECH in aeronautical and aerospace engineering. which college i would get and is there a possibility for MIT?

Manidipa Kundu Student Expert 2nd Apr, 2021

hi,

see cutoff score fluctuate every year and it varies with some determining factors like number of applicants, questions difficulty level, seat matrix , students category and so on. however at this percentile you have high chances for tier 1 institute, so do apply for tier 1 private colleges and government institute. however the college prediction is based on previous years score analysis and may change year to year.

so positively apply for counselling process , I wish you best of luck for your future endeavor.

I am aspiring to be an astronaut. currently, I am studying in class 12. will opting for aeronautical engineering do me any good? which is the best type of engineering i should opt for to ensure the astronaut career path? are aeronautical and aerospace different engineering courses? which is better?

chinchujoseph1993 16th Dec, 2020

Hello,

To become an astronaut a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university, either in engineering, physics, mathematics, computer science, chemistry or biology (STEM field), or Aeronautical/Aerospace engineering. But a higher university degree like Master’s/PhD will be of added value.

Now coming to the two courses, Aerospace is  a  branch of engineering, where you get to learn design, building, testing and maintenance of civil aircraft, missiles, space shuttles, rockets, space stations and other such units. On the other hand, Aeronautical engineering is a sub division field of Aerospace Engineering and deals with the study of designing and building aircraft such as aeroplanes and helicopters.  In simpler words Aeronautical engineering Relates to machines that fly within the earth’s atmosphere, wheres as Astronautical engineering includes the study related to spacecraft such as rockets, space stations and shuttles.

Now a degree in both the fields would be fine, but it would be better to do it in Aerospace Engineering.

Also if it is your dream to become an astronaut, you should also keep in mind that physical fitness plays an important role and so it is very much important that you take care of your health and maintain fitness.

Below I will share a link where you can find some of the best colleges in India that provide courses in Aerospace engineering:

If you want to consider a degree in Aeronautical, then you can find the best colleges for the same from the below shared link:

Hope that you will make India proud one day

Good Luck

what are the difference between aeronautical and aerospace engineering?

chandni deb 12th Jan, 2021

Dear Student,

  • so by definition Aeronautical Engineering, is a branch of engineering where where students are taught and made to study the designing and building of aircrafts and helicopters. Aeronautical engineering is a field of aerospace engineering.
  • Aerospace engineering is a branch of engineering where students are taught about the professionals design, building, testing and maintenance of civil aircraft, missiles, space shuttles, rockets, space stations and other such units.
  • Some of the subjects in Aeronautical Engineering are :-
    • Thermodynamics
    • Heat Transfer
    • Aircraft Structures
    • Flight Mechanics
    • Aircraft Stability and Control
  • Some of the Subjects of Aerospace Engineering are :-
    • Spacecraft Design
    • Introduction to Astronautics
    • Fundamentals of Jet Propulsion
    • Spacecraft Dynamics
    • Orbital Mechanics
  • When it comes to job scopes for aeronautical engineers there is more scope for it abroad than in India. It is also beneficial for aeronautical engineer graduates to pursue their masters in this course as it will give them a better scope in getting a good job
  • Whereas for aerospace engineers, they can work with the government or private companies.
  • Companies for aeronautical engineers :-
    • India Space Research Organization (ISRO)
    • Civil Aviation Department
    • India Space Research
    • Samtel Avionics
  • Companies for aerospace engineers :-
    • Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL)
    • Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO)
    • Defense Research and Development Laboratories (DRDO)
    • Civil Aviation Department
    • Mahindra Aerospace
    • Larsen & Toubro
