If you have failed in any of the subjects in the board examination then you need to reappear for that subject only in the board examination.SO yes you have to appear in that subject only.Other subjects in which you have passed no need to appear for that.

As per your query, I want to make a clarification that the basic difference between CBSE board and Bihar board is that the CBSE board is a central board whereas the Bihar board is a state board .
If you study in CBSE board, it will surely give
I believe the Direct Admission Policy is only for Toppers of respective Central or State Boards.
If you are a State Topper of Bihar Board you can apply under that scheme and you dont have to appear for BITSAT.
Otherwise you may require applying for the BITSAT Exam to secure
