can i get government medical college with 520 marks obc through aiq and state quota in bihar?

piyush263001 22nd Aug, 2022

Hello,

With your expected marks of 520, it will be very difficult for you to get MBBS seat in Government Medical College through State Counseling, as last year cut off marks for OBC Category Candidate was around 570.

-------- According to previous year data for All India Quota, AIQ Counseling, last candidate from each category to get MBBS seat in Government Medical College after 2nd Round of Counseling (without availing any other quota based reservation)  was as following -

• General Category - AIR 17,613 in Government Medical College, Krishnagiri

• GEN-PH - AIR 7,80,732 in GVMC, VILLUPURAM

• EWS Category - AIR 18,572 in Government Medical College, Ramanathapuram

• EWS- PH - AIR 7,14,628 in Government Medical College, Ambikapur

• OBC Category - AIR 17,878 in Government medical College, Namakkal

• OBC-PH - AIR 7,89,476 in Tomo Riba Institute Health and Medical Sciences, Naharlagun

• SC Category - AIR 93,407, in Government Medical College, Tiruppur

• SC-PH - AIR 8,95,033 in THOOTHUKUDI MEDICAL COLLEGE,THOOTHUKUDI

• ST Category - AIR 1,07,455 in Government Medical College, Virudhunagar

• ST-PH - AIR 9,21,531 in RIMS, Ongole

------- So your chances of getting seat through AIQ Counseling are also low.

sir my jee main crl rank is 829813 obc category and obc-ncl rank is 296786 . which government engineering college didi i gate. sir I live in bihar.

anushkasrivastava073 21st Aug, 2022

Hello Rahul,

It is very difficult to get into a government college at this rank. However, you have the option of going to a private college. You can look for some private colleges like LPU, CU, KIIT, MIT, CMRIT, etc. You can also get admission through the management quota. You can contact the college directly or you can go through counsellors. Management quota is accepted by almost all private engineering colleges.

Top Colleges Accepting Management Quota:

  1. Comedk Colleges (RVCE, BMSCE, MSRIT, SMVIT,DSCE,CMRIT,SIT, etc)
  2. KIIT
  3. MIT WPU etc.

However, in my opinion, you should take a drop and prepare for next year. Stay consistent and work hard for one year and get into your dream colleges. That will be the best option for you.

Hello Aspirant,

See If we go through the analysis of marks Vs Percentile Vs rank for JEE-Main 2021 then according to the percentile mentioned by you in the question your CRL rank is expected to be in the range of 3887 - 4370 .

Note that the rank which is predicted is only the expected rank on the basis of previous year's data so your actual rank might vary depending upon current factors.

Based on such rank and category you can go for following NITs for CSE branch :-

NIT Jaipur - Computer Science Engineering

Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology Allahabad - Computer Science Engineering

National Institute of Technology Calicut - Computer Science and Engineering

National Institute of Technology Rourkela - Computer Science and Engineering

To have a list of all those colleges which you can get based upon your JEE-Main rank or score you can use JEE-Main College Predictor:-

80 percentile in obc ncl catogory any nit or iiit ? home state bihar

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 11th Jul, 2022

Hi

Admission in IITs is through jee advanced and not jee main

This difficult to predict the marks/percentile / rank you require in JEE mains to get into NITs etc as closing rank keeps changing every year  depending upon various factors like

----------) number of students/ candidates  that appeared in the  jee main exam,

-----------) number of available seats,

-----------) jee main examination difficulty level.

-----------) branch preference by different candidates

-----------) the category you belong etc.

But yes,

When we go through previous year trend then ,

Under other state quota , closing rank for some of the nits for which closing rank goes low are listed below along with their closing rank in the 6th round of josaa counselling 2021 for obc category  :-

------------------) National Institute of Technology, Manipur:-civil engineering :-  16470 obc rank

------------------) National Institute of Technology, Mizoram :- civil engineering :-  16651 obc

------------------) NIT, Raipur :- Bio Medical Engineering :- 17047 obc  rank

------------------) National Institute of Technology Agartala :- chemistry (5 Years, Bachelor of Science and Master of Science (Dual Degree)):- 17842 obc rank

You can check the same at its official website for which link is given below:-

JOSAA 2021 cut off :- https://josaa.nic.in/Counseling/seatallotmentresult/currentorcr.aspx

So, to get a seat in NITs, you need at least around 16k - 17k obc rank, and for that you need at least around 93+ percentile  as per past year trends

So, with 80 percentile, chances for NITs is extremely low.

To have a personalised report on your chances of getting a college you can go through our college predictor, it will give you complete list of colleges which you can get on the basis of the category you belong to,  your home state, your gender etc, the link for  jee main college predictor is provided below

https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-college-predictor?icn=QnA&ici=qna_answer

To help you  further,

To give an idea of jee main 2022 qualifying cut off ,

Minimum percentile in jee main 2021 to qualify it is given below :-

--------) general :-87.8992241 percentile

--------) EWS:- 66.2214845 percentile

--------) OBC-NCL :- 68.0234447 percentile

--------) SC :- 46.8825338 percentile

--------) ST:- 34.6728999 percentile

--------) PWD :- 0.0096375 percentile

Hello, I am scoring 592 marks in NEET 2022 exam and I belong to OBC category. Can I get government medical college in Bihar..

Aakanksha 19th Aug, 2022
Hi aspirant
Congratulations on your score. At this score you can expect your rank to be around 25k-26k as it was in NEET 2021. However this may vary this year as it depends on various factors like the highest score, total number of candidates and the cut off this year. However at this score you cannot get any government seat in the medical colleges of your state.
You can however predict your rank for NEET 2022 using our rank predictor with the following link.
https://medicine.careers360.com/neet-rank-predictor?utm_source=qna&utm_medium=neet_rp

You can also predict your college using our college predictor tool with the link provided here.
https://medicine.careers360.com/neet-college-predictor?utm_source=qna&utm_medium=neet_cp

Now we'll have a look at the closing ranks of all the government medical colleges of Bihar for OBC category in the mop up round.
Nalanda Medical College, Patna 11483
Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Patna 8345
AIIMS, Patna 3644
Darbhanga Medical College, Laheriasarai 12570
Jawahar Lal Nehru Medical College, Bhagalpur 15446
Government Medical College, Bettiah 16954
ANUGRAH NARAYAN MAGADH MEDICAL COLLEGE, GAYA 15946
VARDHMAN INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES, NALANDA 16083
SRI KRISHNA MEDICAL COLLEGE, MUZAFFARPUR 15967

As you can see it is impossible for you to fetch a seat in the government medical colleges of your state. You can opt for admission to private medical colleges under the deemed/paid seats quota if your finances allow.

Hope this helps
All the best:)

Please tell me about the minimum fees of neet UG in Bihar/ india

Krishna Rathod 18th Aug, 2022

Hello aspirant,

Hope you are doing well

Fees for different courses and different colleges varies according to various factors such as number of seats, category under which you take admission, different quota etc. Since you have not mentioned which course you are looking for, I consider that you are looking for MBBS. In Bihar minimum fees for MBBS would be around 50,000-90,000 per year if you get admission through government quota or in government college. If you get admission in any private college your fees might go beyond 5,00,000 per year. You can read the article below to know about fees for all the colleges or admission process in Bihar.

i have score 630 in neet but i am not feeling as i would not get good medical college in bihar and is college having total fees of 4 lakh worth for mbbs .

rajeevanand843 16th Aug, 2022

Dear aspirant

Your expected marks are considered as very good marks in NEET UG entrance exam.

At your expected marks you have almost confirm chances of getting admission in govt medical colleges in both state quota counseling of bihar and all india quota counseling.

In Bihar state quota counseling you have less chances to get PMCH ( patna medical College and hospital) as last year cut off marks for Gen category was 635 marks. Here also your chances are there as of now result haven't been declared so don't loose hope. It's the best college in Bihar as it's oldest one.

You can get next best college Indra Gandhi institute of medical science, patna which cut off marks was 628 marks,so you have almost confirm chances here also. So this is the best option for you in Bihar and also it's good college and mostly prefer in every section academic and overall facility ( PMCH is preferred due to old).

You can also get all of the govt medical colleges in Bihar except of PMCH like.

  • IGIMS,PATNA
  • Darbhanga medical college and hospital
  • Nalanda medical college, patna
  • Jawahar lal nehru medical college, Bhagalpur
  • Sri krishna medical college, muzafarpur
  • Anugrah narayan medical college, Gaya
  • Vardhman Institute of Medical Sciences,Pawapuri,Nalanda
  • Betiah medical college.betiah

Spending only 4 lakhs in MBBS is totally worth it. This much money you might only earn in first 6-8months after graduating MBBS.

People are spending in lakhs and crores to get MBBS college and degree and if you are getting it 4 lakh and don't want then you don't know the real value of MBBS degree in India.

Predict your admission chances in MBBS / BDS / Ayush seats, use our neet college predictor tool from link below

Hope this was informative for you

All the best

hey myself anurag kumar I am from bihar my jee mains percentile 71.2 in ews category in which college I could be get admission in all across India please suggest me I am in very self doubt condition please

Sevit Kar 16th Aug, 2022

Hello,

To be honest , being from EWS category you don't have a chance to get into NITs /IIITs with this percentile. As you are from Bihar i would suggest you to look for colleges through your state counselling as that would be much beneficial for you.

Through josaa it is not possible for you to get any seat, i would suggest you to also look for private colleges such as SRM University, Manipal University, BITS Pilani,VIT Vellore.

If you want to check out the colleges you can get , you can take the help of the college predictor link given below -

Im pwd category student reading in class 12th preparing for neet exam would my disability certificate I got from DMCH(Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital Darbhanga)bihar will valid or not for pwd category of neet please assist me ???

piyush263001 15th Aug, 2022

Hello,

If you are a PwD(Person with Disability) candidate then there is certain reservation for candidates with PwD in Medical Colleges through NEET.

• 5% of seats are reserved for Person with Disability PwD. This is a horizontal reservation which means that 5% of all seats reserved for various categories are reserved for candidates with disability from that category

------- Following is the criteria for availing the PwD reservation-

• Minimum degree of disability should 40% or more to avail Pwd quota.

• The degree of disability should be checked or assessed as per the guidelines set by the Govt.

• Must hold a “Certificate of Disability”.

• Disability certificate should be made from the 12 designated centers by NTA.

Here is the list of designated centres-

• Vardhman Mahavir Medical College & Safdarjang Hospital, New Delhi

• All India Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (for Locomotor Disability only), Mumbai

• Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education & Research, Kolkata

• Madras Medical College, Chennai

• Grant Government Medical College, J.J. Hospital Compound, Mumbai

• Government Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala

• Govt. Medical College and Hospital, Sector32, Chandigarh

• Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh

• SMS Medical College, Jaipur

• AIIMS, Nagpur, Maharashtra

• Goa Medical College, Goa

• Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Medical Sciences & RML Hospital, New Delhi (ABVIMS & RMLH)

• Lady Hardinge Medical College & Associated Hospitals, New Delhi

• Govt. Medical College, Agartala, State Disability Board, Agartala, Tripura

You can confirm the same by clicking on the link below-

http://mcc.nic.in/WebinfoMedical/File/ViewFile?FileId=10&LangId=P

-------- So, I would advise you to get your PwD certificate made from any of the above designated centres, so that you don't face any issue during Counseling for seat allotment.

I hope you find the answer helpful

Thank you.

But yes ,

As per past year trends,

>>>>>>>> With 214 marks

--------------------) your percentile will be roughly around 99.66 - 99.74 considering paper of moderate level and considering the worst case if we go with 99.66 percentile then your crl rank would be roughly around 3478 - 3910 as per our JEE main rank predictor at:- https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-rank-predictor
