Question paper is divided into two parts, namely Part A and Part B:
Part A consists of 10 Questions where a student is required to write only the answer and not the complete solution.
Part B consists of 6 Questions where one has to write the complete solutions of the
CMI does not disclose the particular cutoff for admission . However, when the exam is over, answer sheets of all the students are checked and then the top Y students are selected for admission to its various programmes (UG, PG, etc.) [where Y = no. of students to be selected
There are only two test centers in Uttar Pradesh for CMI's Entrance exam: Allahabad and Kanpur .

The entrance examination is a test of aptitude in mathematics, statistics and computer science. The questions will test familiarity with school level mathematics, discrete mathematics, probability theory, logic, and programming.

The entrance examination is a test of aptitude for Computer Science featuring both multiple choice questions and problems requiring detailed solutions drawn mostly from the following topics: discrete mathematics, algorithms, basic computer organization and some programming.
