Hello, 

There is no such direct exam that can land you directly into research work. You need to have core knowledge about that field before perusing research.

But yes you can score good marks in 12th class and apply for iiser, kvpy, iisc, also you complete your graduation from IITs

in 12 you need 87 and up perecentile for qualifying jee mains (2019)

if you score 87 and up you can give advance

in that if you score good marks as well as good rank you can opt for iits and nits 

for cracking jee mains and advance you need

Yes you can choose mathematics as elective it has no relation to your subjects in your intermediate. If you think you can do good in it then you can choose it.

Hello Aspirant,

You can apply for IITJEE  Exam but to get admission in IITs, NITs, IIITs and GFTIs, You should have a minimum of 75% aggregate marks in Class 12th or equivalent examination. For SC/ST/PwD category You must have secured at least 65% marks in qualifying examination.

Hello Anjali,

No, you can't take admission in another school in class 12th if you are pursuing your 10+2 from ISC or CBSE board. Several states boards allow their students to change their school in class 12th but majority of state boards have same policy as that of CBSE board.
