Im a arts student can i study gnm course in gmc or any governtment institude in guwahati

Hello Aspirant,

General Nursing and Midwifery, also known as the GNM course, is for the aspirants who prefer to serve in clinical nursing. The prospect studies and receives skills to treat the ill and females during their gestation.

Eligibility norms - The aspirant who accomplished 10+2 level from a distinguished educational board and possesses a score of 50% or more in the science subjects (Physics, Biology, and Chemistry) can register for the GNM nursing course. Only Science stream students who took Biology in 10+2 are eligible. Biology at a 10+2 level would have given the students a basic about women's reproductive health, pregnancy etc. Hence, students who take this course after 10+2 Bio will have no problem understanding the concepts in detail. So, Bio students who are eligible for this course. No need to worry if they had commerce in the 12th class. If you want you can enrol in the NIOS Board exam choose the science stream with Biology and qualify for the exam to be eligible for GNM. You can also choose a recognized distance education board in your state for this. Just ensure that it must be recognized by your state government. So you're not eligible for the GNM course with 10+2 in the Arts stream.

Hello Aspirant,

No you cannot pursue MNS if you are from Arts background because for MNS the candidates should have passed Class 12 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English with at least 50% aggregate score as a regular student


Eligibility criteria for MNS 2022 :-


>>>>>>> Only those female candidates are eligible who are unmarried/divorcee/ legally separated/ widow without encumbrances.

>>>>>>> Candidates must be an Indian citizen.

>>>>>>> Candidates must have passed Class 12 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English with at least 50% aggregate score as a regular student.

>>>>>>> Candidates awaiting their class 12th or equivalent examination result of the final exam are also eligible to appear for the exam but provisionally during admission the candidate should present the marksheet otherwise the admission will be stand cancelled.

>>>>>>> The minimum height of candidates should not be less than 152 cms.

How much did it cost for GNM course?

Hello,

GNM stands for general nursing and midwifery course.It is of three and half  year course and the maximum limit of eligibility is 17 years and to get admission in gnm course you should secure minimum 50% in intermediate with main subject as physics , chemistry and biology.The employment opportunities available after completing this course and if you done it seriously,you will get employment.

The average fees for this course is approax 35000 to 50000 per anum. The fees is generally depends on the colleges such as :

  • Christian medical college (CMC) VELLORE -- INR 70000
  • Christian medical college Ludhiana --INR 2,40,000
  • KIIT Bhubaneswar -- INR 30000
  • TD medical college-- INR 1,80,000
  • Government medical College and hospital Chandigarh -- INR 1,20,000
  • St. John's medical college --INR 5,00,000

And like that there are so many college which cost different fees according to college, the range of the fees is 20k to 5 lac.

YES, you can do GNM Being a ARTS Student. GNM is general nursing and midwifery, it is a course of 3 years and six months who want to pursue their career in clinical nursing. The minimum eligibility for this course is 12 pass from any stream with minimum 40 percent marks in the qualifying exams

I am hoping that you are doing well. As per your mentioned query , GNM stands for General Nursing and Midwifery is for the those candidates who wants to work in clinical nursing. So , for applying in this course first you have to check the eligibility criteria so as per the eligibility criteria a candidate have to pass their class 12th with minimum of 50% aggregation with any recognised board. And they have also physics , chemistry and biology as main subjects. After that some colleges give admission on the basis of class 12th marks and some give direct admission. Some colleges have their own entrance exams so you have to clear it. Some common entrance exams are also there.

  • 10+2 with English and must have obtained a minimum of 40% at the qualifying examination and English individually for any recognized board. Candidates are also eligible from State Open School recognized Candidates are also eligible from State Open School recognized by State Government and National Institute of Open School (NIOS) recognized by Central Government. However Science is preferable.
  • 10+2 with English having 40% of marks in vocational ANM course from the school recognized by Indian Nursing council.
  • 10+2 with English having 40% of marks in Vocational Stream-Health care Science from a recognized CBSE board/Centre.
  • Registered ANM with pass mark.
