how to prepare for GCET Goa? I havent yet prepared for GCET

Mayank Chowdhary 15th Jun, 2020

Okk so first of all know the syllabus and pattern of the GCET examination. It is of 225 marks with 75 questions from each of Physics, chemistry and mathematics subject with +1 marks for each answer And no negative marking.

So for Orgamic chemistry, you need to clear the basics of organic chemistry first by completing basic principles techniques in OC, Aromatic compounds and then you'll be able to byheart and understand the reactions in Haloalkanes, Haloarenes, Phenol, Enters, nitrogen containing compounds, etc.

For inorganic chemistry, complete the nature of chemical bonds chapter first, then all blocks - s, p, d, f, coordination compounds all these chapters will go fluently.

Physical chemistry is about practicing numericals and understanding the concepts.

Maths is based on more and more solving and practicing. Do calculus much more. Because lots of questions are asked from that side.

For physics, you need to clear the basics first and then solve maximum mcqs regarding that topic so that you cover maximum types of questions.

You can complete modern physics first which will include atoms, molecules, and nuclei, semiconductors, electrons and photons, it's a scoring section. Then go for ray, optics, wave and light part. And at the end go for motion chapters. And then the renaining ones which don't have much connection with any other like elasticity, friction, etc.

Why this year placement of GCET was bit low?

Aditi amrendra Student Expert 5th May, 2020
Hello,

There could be many reasons from that. The number of placements vary year to year. For this year the possible reasons for less placements could possibly  be the economic slowdown due to companies are not investing in more projects due to which they are not recruiting more graduates.

I hope this helps.
