If I dont receive the EWS certificate in time, will my category automatically change from GEN-EWS to GEN during GATE counseling? Or, would it be safer to make the correction now?" Can someone please guide me?

Afreen 8th Nov, 2024

if you don't receive your EWS certificate in time for GATE counseling, your category will automatically change from GEN-EWS to GEN, meaning you will be considered under the General category during seat allocation.

It is safer to apply as EWS category to get reservation quota because at the time of counselling the respected authority will ask you to represent your income certificate so first apply for income certificate then EWS even if you haven't received the certificate yet, to avoid any last-minute issues and ensure you are considered for the appropriate seats.

THe only consequence is they will degrade you to general category thats it

I have received a mail from gate to upload the signature clearly. I did it and uploaded again. What if it is also not clear??

Tanya Gupta 8th Nov, 2024

Hello,

If your signature is still unclear after re-uploading, you may receive another notification from the GATE authorities to correct it. To avoid further issues, ensure the signature is on white paper with dark ink, scanned clearly, and meets the required size and format specifications mentioned in the guidelines. If issues persist, consider reaching out to the GATE helpdesk for assistance or re-uploading until accepted to prevent application rejection.

Hope this helps you,

Thank you

in my gate score card has MUPPURI SIVAKRISHNA but in the academic records and 10tg marksheet has MUPPURI SIVA KRISHNA is any problems occurs to me at the time of admission at iits

Deepti Singh 5th Nov, 2024

Hello,

Having a variation in your name on the GATE scorecard and academic records, such as your 10th marksheet, may lead to some problems during admission processes at IITs. Normally, consistency in all documents is expected.

Things to do:

Contact Institution: Contact the admissions offices of the IITs that you are applying to explain the situation. They would advise you on their minor name variation policies.

Affidavit or name clarification: You may even have to draft an affidavit stating that MUPPURI SIVAKRISHNA and MUPPURI SIVA KRISHNA are one and the same. This avoids confusion during verification.

Notarized documents: A declaration or supporting document, usually in the possession of a notarized version, would be quite helpful.

This way, if a solution exists to this prior to admitting a child, a smooth process will be accomplished.
