Sir\Madam I belong to ST category and my category rank is 4700 can I get any nit college....no matter whatever the branch

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 17th Sep, 2021

Hi

Your profile suggests that your home state is Telangana

It's quite difficult to predict because cutoff keeps changing every year depending upon various factors like :-

******number of students that appeared in the  jee main exam,

****** number of available seats,

****** performance of different students in the examination,

****** the category you belong etc.

But yes,

When we go through previous year trend then

>>>>> with 4700 st rank

You have low chance in NITs.

For example,

Under other state quota , closing rank for some of the lower nits for which closing rank goes low are listed below along with their closing rank in the 6th round of josaa counselling 2020 for st category  :-

  • NIT Mizoram ,civil engineering :-   2975 st rank

  • Nit nagaland ,Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering :- 3086 st rank

  • National Institute of Technology Agartala,    Biotechnology and Biochemical Engineering:- 3521 st rank

You can check the same at

https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx

But yes,

you have chances in following IIIts which are listed below along with their closing rank in 6th round of josaa counselling 2020 under other state :-

----------)Indian Institute of Information Technology(IIIT) Kilohrad, Sonepat, Haryana:- IT :- 4795 st rank

----------)Indian Institute of Information Technology(IIIT) Una, Himachal Pradesh:-Electronics and Communication Engineering (4 Years, Bachelor of Technology):-5872 st rank

----------)Indian Institute of Information Technology Bhopal, ECE :-5641 ST rank

This prediction of colleges is  based of past year data but  cut off or closing rank changes every year depending upon many factors like the number of students that give the examination, difficulty level of the JEE main  for different shifts etc so

To have a personalised report on your chances of getting a college you can go through our college predictor, it will give you complete list of colleges which you can get on the basis of the category you belong to,  your home state, your gender etc, the link for  jee main college predictor is provided below

which is a better option between SRM kattankulathur, NIT Goa or IIT Goa?

Subhrajit Mukherjee 10th Aug, 2021

See this is a very hard comparison. Both of this universities are infrastructurally very good, they have wide curriculum, they have good placements and faculties. So its like comparing your right hand is better or your left hand. I know this confusion arises as IIT Goa is a new IIT and people think real IIT's are the old ones. But let me assure you, you will not have any less facilities in a new IIT also. Except its records there are nothing less about it. Now as you to be a professor at IIT, one need to be a post doc and they need to be very good at there respective fields. So the teachers will be great, the curriculum will be great. The placements will also be good as you see they are IIT's and companies will visit them no matter what. So don't worry about it, if you get a chance at IIT GOA just go for it.

Now SRM is also a good institution but if you get chance in any of IIT GOA or NIT GOA then going to SRM avoiding this two institutions will be just like childish as well as illogical. IIT GOA have everything as SRM but SRM didn't have all the things that IIT GOA have.

The most efficient prioritization are:

  1. IIT GOA
  2. NIT GOA
  3. SRM KATTANKULATHUR

what is average and largest package of iit goa

Aditi Yadav 12th Jun, 2021
IIT Goa established in 2016, it is a growing IIT. So, certainly, Placements may not be as good as the core IITs or some 3rd generation IITs, but here is the summary.

The first batch of IIT Goa just passed out in 2020, and Placements of 2021 are still going on. The Placement is growing at a great pace. Even as we all know, Placements are affected by Covid10 still, IIT Goa managed to place many students with great packages.

Some of the key companies that visited IIT Goa are PayTM, Reliance JIO, L&T, ARM, ABB, etc.

By the end of Placement Season of 2020 Batch, the highest package offered was of 30LPA domestic, with an average package of Roughly 13 LPA overall.

Feel free to ask if you have any more queries.

Best wishes !

I want to apply for jee main in 2022. but I dont learn in any jee class.so what can I do for crack jee main exam..?

Ashish Kumar Verma 17th Mar, 2021

Hello Dear,

There are many ways you can prepare for IIT JEE. You can take helps from coaching centres or self studies.

Books of NCERT would always be the most important ones, for JEE. A thorough study of these books is the first step. Devote most of your time in understanding the concepts. The pattern of the question paper, or the level of questions might change, but the concepts remain the same. Reach out to your teachers to resolve your doubts.  Plan a routine according to your strength. You can purchase a book named 'NCERT at your fingertips' where you can get MCQs related to NCERT (books).  Try to solve as many previous year papers.

Good Luck

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 18th Feb, 2021

Hi

Yes ,you can get admission in IIT  with your qualification of diploma in  ceramic engineering provided you fulfill rest of the criteria

This is because,

3 year diploma in Engineering which is approved  by either AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education is equivalent  to 10 + 2 in order to be eligible for JEE main and JEE advanced examination

Admission in IIT is  through JEE advanced examination, so for reference eligibility criteria of JEE advanced is provided below:-

To be eligible for jee advanced

-) you must qualify JEE mains and also need to pass your class 12th / equivalent with at least 75% marks in aggregate in class 12 if belong to general or obc category or at least 65% marks if belongs to SC/ST or must be in the top 20 percentile in class 12 examination. For this year i. e 2021 this percentage requirement in class 12th/ equivalent has been lifted off.

-) You can give JEE advanced examination for maximum of consecutive 2 years starting from the year of appearing for your 12th/ equivalent examination

-) There is no age limit to be eligible for jee advanced.

You can get the detailed below information about jee advanced eligibility criteria by visiting our page the link for the same is provided below

Does IIT Goa have aerospace engineering ??

S. Saha Student Expert 15th Dec, 2020
Indian Institute of Technology Goa offers under graduation courses in four distinct branches such as Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mathematics and Computing. And in post graduation that is in M.Tech it offers Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Computer science Engineering. It doesn't offer Aerospace Engineering either in B.Tech or in M.Tech. IIT Bombay, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras, IIT Kanpur are considered as best IITs for Aerospace Engineering. is vit vellore is better than iit goa in phd in math?

Subhrajit Mukherjee 12th Nov, 2020

See from the perspective of research in INDIA private institutions didn't produce valued research. So IIT GOA may be a new IIT and can be in a struggling phase but always remember IIT's are very choosy about professors and they take teachers those who have proper research background along with post doctoral experience. So IIT's can be new but the professor there have the experience from the International Universities and may be after a great work in the respective field they have secured a professorship at IIT.

So according to me or the basic scenario of research in private colleges , it always better for you to join IIT rather than VIT. May be the college have better infrastructure and reputation but it can't match the frequency of research with IIT's.

Although I would recommend you to go through the internet and conduct a research about both the institutions. If you agree with my points then verify it. If you don't agree then you do a research by yourself about the institutions which will give you a more prominent scenario of the research in natural sciences.

I hope my answer helps you. Wish you all the very best for your future endeavors!
