Sir, iam studing 10th class i want to apply for iiit when should i want to apply after 10th or in 10th class?

deepanshuj0108 Student Expert 26th Aug, 2019

Hello Suvarna,

First of all complete your senior secondary education i.e. class 12th.
Physics, Chemistry and Maths are compulsory subjects if you want to join an IIT(or to be an engineer from any college)  for the 4th subject you will get options which include computer science, Economics, physical education and some other depending on your school and board. If you are from CBSE board then your 5th subject have be English(I have no idea about other boards but I think they follow the same pattern) .

Join a coaching center if you can. It's not compulsory to join a coaching center, you can crack the Joint Entrance Exam on your own too but they give you a proper direction and will tell you about tricks and short cuts that will come handy while you write JEE. Choose your coaching schedule according to your scool timings and don't ever neglect your studies at school because of their 40%tile policy where your 12th class percentage will also be taken into account while calculating your JEE rank ( I have seen people scoring very good at JEE still not getting into an IIT because of their low percentage in boards and the reverse is also true.)

Make a time table for yourself.
Fix your study hours for some morning time is best while others prefer late night studies.
Keep your basics clear and don't just focus on tricks( they are important in JEE but they won't help you in boards).
Keep giving mocks and keep a track of your progress. Make sure you work on your weak points and at the same time make your strong areas your strength.

All the best!!

Which is better 4yrs btech CSE at tier 4 college+2yrs mtech at Old IITs (or) 2 yrs btech CSE(discontinue)+4 yrs btech CSE at IIIT Hyd/NITs?

NILUTPOL Student Expert 23rd Aug, 2019
Hello,
According to my knowledge, 4 year b.tech degree at tier 4 college and 2 year m.tech at old IITs would be a much better option for you as compared to the other one. In six years you will have completed your master's whereas in the second one you would have only Completed your bachelor's. Two years of gap would also raise certain questions for you at the time of placements. Actually this is my personal experience. I was also in the same dilemma m after my 12. But I choose the first option and now I am in my second year of b.tech CSE. I am also preparing for my GATE exam so that I can do my masters from one of the top old IITs.

Feel free to ask me anything.
Hope it helps

I have taken admission in iiit KANCHIPURAM in mechanical dual degree should we drop for next chance for better college. How is placement her

Saurav chaurasia 19th Aug, 2019

dear aspirant, hope you are doing well. Now coming to your question, IIIT kancheepuram's dual degree mechinal branch is just average.Placement at IIITDM Kancheepuram is ‘average’. What it means that most of get placed in range 5lpa to 10lpa. Few cross 10 lpa. These figure will DEFINITELY grow in coming years as we will have more students to be placed. Earlier we couldn’t invite some of the high paying companies due to less strength or all were placed before we could make a call.Regular placement meeting and progress tracking. Faculty in charges take good interest and higher authorities are supportive and interested to work for placement.

if you wish you could take a drop this year if not satisfied.

hope this will help.

Iiit hedrabad accept jee main rank

NILUTPOL Student Expert 19th Aug, 2019
Hello,
IIIT Hyderabad 2019 B.Tech Admission will be done based on JEE Main 2019 marks for limited seats to the single degree programmes only. These programmes includes, B. Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), and B. Tech in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE).
Eligibility Criteria :

Applicants must have appeared for JEE (Main) as the total percentile in this exam is mandatory for application to this mode of admission.

For candidates who attempt JEE Main exam twice(January 2019 and April 2019), the best percentile of the two attempts will be considered. Ties among applicants in the total percentile are resolved by considering first the Maths, then the Physics and then the Chemistry percentiles from the corresponding examination before ranking all applicants.

Any ties at the subjects level among applicants will be handled by assigning the same rank to the applicants who will then treated on par. Class XII marks have no bearing on the ranking and seat allocation.

For more details please visit this official website of IIIT H.
