I got 7300 rank in imu-cet 2019? Is there any govt. College for b.tech in marine engineering? I belong to general category.

Their is very few government college seat for btech in marine engineering through IMU CET.

You have no chance to get goverment college on this rank. The cutoff for the government college in general category is about 600 to700.

You can apply in other private colleges in it .

After completing your degree you will be trained for six months on ship after that you will get certificate which will help you to getting work on ship.

Don't worry about jobs and salary because there are so much opportunities in this field and even you can expect more salary here than other fields.

Job Duties and Tasks for: "Marine Engineer" 1) Design and oversee testing, installation, and repair of marine apparatus and equipment. 2) Conduct analytical, environmental, operational, or performance studies in order to develop designs for products, such as marine engines, equipment, and structures.

Marine engineers and naval architects may work directly on ships.  Marine engineers are also known as marine design engineers or marine mechanical engineers and are responsible for the internal systems of a ship, such as the propulsion, electrical, refrigeration, and steering systems.As in many engineering occupations, they oversee the construction of their designs. Schooling to become a marine engineer generally requires at least an undergraduate degree, which takes about four years of full-time education to complete.

A marine engineer needs:
  • an interest in science, technology and nautical matters.
  • practical and technical skills.
  • problem-solving ability.
  • a high level of numeracy.
  • teamworking and leadership skills.
  • for some jobs, to be prepared to work away from home for long periods

Marine engineering is what enables us to build oil rigs, pumping oil out of the ground, underneath our oceans. These areimportant, as we all know how much the world relies on fossil fuels. Secondly marine engineering is necessary to build large, efficient and fast cargo, tanker, and other commercial ships.

Bachelor's degree is generally required for this position. A Marine Engineer gets an average salary that can range from 64000 to 96000 depending on experience and domain knowledge. Marine Engineers receive salaries of Eighty Five Thousand dollars per annum.

I am sorry to say that you are not eligible to get admission in Indian Martime University Chennai for marine engineering 

To get in this college a candidate should atleast ranked 180 in IMUCET . But you can apply in other collges available according to your rank

Coimbatore Marine college: 6498

C V Raman college: 3897

Eurotech maritime academy : 7153

HIMT college: 4091

International maritime institute,  delhi : 3577

Mangalore marine college : 7721

Park maritime academy: 8275
