I WANT TO DO MARINE ENGINEERING BUT I HAVE EYE SIGHT-3.25 ,CAN I JOIN TMI AND DO MY LASIK IN 2ND YEAR OF MY B.TECH?

Shakti Swarupa Bhanja 18th Nov, 2020

Hello Sankar!

Plese try to go for the LASIK surgery before you join TMI because it takes time for eyes to adjust to your surroundings and act normally. You should contact TMI because I think it must not be a problem unless you are color blind.

I am describing below the medical requirements of the eye laid down by DG Shipping and are subject to change.

  • Candidates must not have any degree of squint or any morbid condition of eyes or of the eyelids that is liable to aggravate or recur.
  • Candidates should not exhibit symptoms of pressure oftrachome and iris complications or sequela.
  • Candidates must possess good binocular vision (fusion faculty and full field of vision in both eyes).
  • Movement of the eyeballs must be full in all direction and the pupils should react normally to light and accommodation.
  • Distance vision unaided 0.5 (6/12) in each eye or 0.67 (6/9) in better eye and 0.33 (6/18) in other eye.
  • Color blindness is not permitted.
  • Candidates may also be disqualified by reason of any other deficiency that in the opinion of the examining doctors will interfere with or compromise the individual's ability to properly function as an officer in the merchant navy.

For complete information reagrding the meducal requirements of the whole body, please copy and paste the below link in your browser:-

Is this need to pay college fee after qualifying imu cet ??

ananthita 12th Nov, 2020

Hello,

After the results of imu cet are declared and if you have qualified it then you will be asked to go for counselling which you can do by registering yourself for the online counselling through the official site. Then you will be asked to pay the counselling fee and after that you can lock your preferences. After the deadline for preference locking you will be allotted colleges based on the preferences that you gave. Further you can follow the admission procedure of your allotted college to get admission. You have to pay the college fee unless you are eligible for any scholarship.

Hope this answers your query.

i got 2519 for cusat cat marine engineering. can i get seat for marine engineering at cusat

Tarreni Behera 1st Nov, 2020

Dear Aspirant,

Cochin University of Science and Technology Common Admission Test provides admission in the University to those students who have scored an extremely good rank or have good quota rank pertaining to some sort of reservation. As far as the branch of Marine Engineering is concerned, it is one of the most difficult branches of the University in terms of enrolling into the Institute. The cutoff rank for Marine Engineering in the Institute is 150. In case there is some sort of reservation with a good quota rank, only then could you find a place in that Institute.  So, I hope you understand that at this rank of yours, there is no chance of yours getting Marine Engineering in CUSAT.

Att rank of yours, you can enroll yourself in other branches of the Institute like electrical and electronics engineering, Mechanical engineering, Civil engineering, Computer Science Engineering, polymer Technology, etc.

If you want to know any further information about admission and cutoff in any of the branches in the University, all you need to do is click on this link:-

This link does contain all the information that you require and therefore, you can take a look into it. I am sure you will find it extremely beneficial to your cause.

In case, you want admission in any other branch of some other college of the same or other University, you must compare these colleges and see for yourself which college is best for you with respect to the branch. In order to compare colleges, I suggest you to refer to this url:-

How are the placements and average, highest CTCS offered in 2020 IMU chennai,Kolkata for B.Tech marine engineering,B.Tech naval architecture?

Aditi amrendra Student Expert 30th Oct, 2020
Hello,

The placement, package and everything in IMUs is very different from other B. Tech colleges in india.
Mainly the international shipping companies recruit candidates for posts like Engine Cadet /Junior Engineer/Fifth Engineer /TME and so on. The pay scale is different of all the companies based on various guidelines and conditions.
But generally during training on can get around 350 USD -900 USD.
Once u clear MEO CLASS IV, you will get around 2000 -2500 USD depending on the company and the type of ship you are working which matters most.

I hope this helps.

Srivani Vadde 24th Oct, 2020

These courses are very  interesting courses. But max people don't know about these courses because max students  first preference is  top branches only. If you studied in andhra university that degree definitely has a value and placements are also good. But top branches have more placements compare to these branches.
