As you might know, nift entrance consist of Cat-50% Gat-30% and Situation Test-20% 
So if u have scored well in written exam(CAT+GAT) you can easily get among top 2000 and ofc get selected for situation test.

There will be no minimum required to attent the entrance exam of NIFT. But the thing is you have to be Qualified in the 12th. And you can apply when the result is out.

NO,Obviously CAT is important, as it has 50% weight-age as compared to 30% weight-age of GAT. But, one can't be sure of how many marks one can get in CAT, as it depends more on examiner. But one can be very sure of getting marks in GAT,
