To join indian defence services after engineering there are some exams through which you can go.

AFCAT and

CDS

These both exam are for undergraduates .

After the exam there will be SSB ( interview of 3-5 days ) and medical .

And you will get officer 's rank after the training.

Panipat Institute of Engineering and Technology offers multidisciplinary technical courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate level leading to the B.Tech and M.Tech degrees, respectively.  In addition, it also offers undergraduate and postgraduate level programs in the fields of Information Technology and Management Studies leading to the award of BCA, BBA, MCA and MBA programs.

• Admissions to the B.Tech and M.Tech programs are done through JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) Main and GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering), respectively.
• Admissions to the BBA and BCA courses will be done based on merit in the last qualifying examination.
• Candidates applying for the MBA and MCA program will have to appear for an Entrance Test followed by a Personal Interview.

I would say that Parul University is the best university to get enrolled with. It has the best placement records. With the best campus life and best faculties, one can have. Thou it is strict with some rules and regulations but I think it's for our betterment. Parul University is perfect in all terms and strives for the best. I would recommend getting admission here.

If specifically ask in between these two colleges then I suggest you opt for CGC Landran. CGC is an AAA+ college for engineering as well as good in terms of placement. You can also check the following link to know more reputed colleges in your vicinity. Hope this works for you.

PIET is a private institute approved by AICTE. It has been given an overall rating of 3.7/5 and placement rating of 3.8/5 as per careers360. 

Samalkha group of institutions, panipat is a pricate institute approved by AICTE and accredited by NAAC A and ISO. It has been given an overall rating of 2/5 and placement rating of 2/5 as per careers360. 

Chandigarh group of colleges,landran campus,  mohali is a private institute approved by AICTE. it has been given an overall rating of 3.6/5 and placement rating of 3.9/5 as per careers360.

Placements are pretty good for C.sc, electronics and IT is good but  placement for civil and mechanical is  not so good.Companies like amazon , fipkart, tata motors,cadbury etc are frequently visited companies.College also provide internship oppurtunities.

Both the colleges are private , NSEC is older than PIET. 

You can go with PIET , but choose your interested branch. Both the colleges are ok , not very nice.
