Hello!
The diverse options in B.A subjects make it suitable for students from any stream. Even if you have studied science in your class 12 ISC, you won't face any trouble if you choose a B.A subject for your graduation (but B.A subjects demand efforts). If you are not confident with subjects like Political Science, Sociology, History or Geography, choosing B.A English for your graduation will be the safest choice. It will open several career paths like, Academics, Journalism, Language Trainor and Translator, Digital Content Writer, Publishing and Editing etc.
And if you are aiming for Government Services, B.A subjects will give you the knowledge, required for exam preparations.
There's plenty of scope in B.A subjects and many good Universities to choose from. All the best for your future!
Hello aspirant,
Consider internationally renowned universities like Carnegie Mellon University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), which are renowned for their extensive and research-focused programs, if you're looking for a "better" curriculum in data science and artificial intelligence. Leading educational institutions in India include the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), such as IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, and IIT Madras. These colleges offer strong data analytics and artificial intelligence programs along with solid infrastructure and industry connections.
Thank you
Hope it helps you
Hey Chandana,
Yes, BSc programs in fields like Information Technology, Computer Science, and Data Science are available in several universities and colleges, including options in evening shifts.**
Institutions such as Satyawati College (Evening), University of Delhi, and Surendranath Evening College, Kolkata offer BSc programs suitable for working students or those seeking flexible schedules. Some private institutions, like Mohamed Sathak College of Arts and Science (Chennai), also provide BSc Computer Science in the evening shift.
Additionally, universities like Sharnbasva University (Karnataka) have introduced vocational and honours BSc programs in modern specializations such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and Cybersecurity, designed with industry-focused curricula and practical exposure.
Before applying, you should check the eligibility criteria, class timings, fee structure, and placement support of the respective colleges through their official websites or admission portals.
Information technology, data science, computer science, and other related subjects are among the B.Sc. courses offered by several Indian colleges. Presidency University Bangalore, Christ University, Amity University, and others are renowned universities. A number of establishments, like Delhi University's Motilal Nehru College (Evening) and Bangalore's Indian Academy Evening College, also provide evening courses. For working students, flexible scheduling is offered for evening B.Sc. programs in computer science or information technology. See the websites of individual colleges for information on admissions and schedules.
Yes, you can find B.Sc. courses in IT, Data Science, etc. in evening colleges. Delhi University (Satyawati Evening College, others) and Surendranath Evening College, Kolkata offer B.Sc. Computer Science/IT in evening shifts. For flexible options, IGNOU provides an online B.Sc. in Data Science & AI, and ICFAI Dehradun offers B.Sc. Data Science with multiple exit points. Some regular colleges like Sharnabasva University and St. Xavier’s Kolkata also offer B.Sc. in AI, Data Science, and related areas, but mostly in daytime. Evening options are limited to big cities, while online courses are more flexible.
Hey Shubhra,
With a JEE Main CRL rank of 10,04,756 and an OBC category rank of 4,42,500, it is highly unlikely to get admission in Computer Science (CSE) in any top AKTU-affiliated government or reputed private college, as CSE remains one of the most competitive branches with cut-offs typically under 2 lakh CRL and much lower for category ranks.
However, you may have a chance in lesser-known private engineering colleges affiliated to AKTU under the OBC reservation, but it depends on:
Seat availability after higher rank cutoffs are filled
Management quota or spot round availability
Regional preference (UP domicile benefits).
Recommendation:
Explore non-core branches like IT, ECE, or Mechanical in private colleges under AKTU.
Consider direct admission in private colleges with AICTE approval (check for quality and placement).
You may also look at polytechnic to B.Tech lateral entry route or appear for CUET UG or state-level exams next year for better options.
Hey Anthony,
Apart from BTech in Computer Science, several other degrees offer high salary potential and promising future prospects, especially in technology-driven and high-demand sectors. Some of the top alternatives include:
1. BSc in Data Science or Artificial Intelligence – High demand in IT, finance, and research sectors.
2. BCA + MCA (Integrated or separate) – Strong job prospects in software development, app/web development.
3. BSc in Statistics or Mathematics – Leads to roles in analytics, risk assessment, and data modeling.
4. BBA in Business Analytics or Finance – Growing in demand with top MNCs offering lucrative packages.
5. BDes in UI/UX or Animation – High-paying creative roles in tech companies, gaming, and media.
6. Bachelor in Cybersecurity / Cloud Computing – Emerging fields with excellent salary growth.
7. BPharm / BSc Biotechnology / BSc Life Sciences – For those interested in healthcare, R&D, or pharma sales.
8. BA/BSc in Economics – Leads to careers in finance, consulting, and government services.
Best wishes for your future
No, the CUET General Aptitude Test (GAT) is not always mandatory for admission to B.A. (Hons.) Political Science at BHU.
With a VITEEE rank of about 97,000 , it is very unlikely to get admission into CSE or IT at the main campuses like VIT Vellore or VIT Chennai , since their closing ranks for these branches are usually below 34,000 . However, you may still have a chance at VIT Bhopal or VIT-AP , where CSE and related specializations are offered for ranks up to 1.1 to 1.3 lakhs . So while the top campuses may not be possible, you can still aim for the newer VIT campuses with decent options in Computer Science.
Hi dear candidate,
Can you please specify other information like which subjects you had in your class 12th, PCM or PCB and for which specific course you are looking for admission, so that we can help your further.
Most of the courses that does not require entrance exam like JEE or NEET for admission require you to have scored at least 50% or above so, your score of 73% is more than enough.
The B.Sc is the course that would not require entrance test is most cases, in case you are looking for direct admission.
