Can a pure science background student can persue BCA course

Rajeswari Dey 9th May, 2025

Hi aspirant,

Students with a pure science background (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology without Mathematics) can typically pursue a BCA (Bachelor of Computer Applications) study.

  1. While certain colleges may favor candidates with Mathematics at the 10+2 level, many institutions accept students from various fields, including science without math.
  2. it is recommended that you check the exact eligibility criteria of the universities you are interested in, as some may require Mathematics as a necessary course.
  3. If admitted, you may need to put in extra effort to understand the mathematical ideas required in several BCA subjects.

All the best!

I took pcb in 12th but I want to take computer science after 12th. Can I still take it even if didnt cimputer science or maths as optional subject?

Kishan Bhakat 8th May, 2025

Hi,

If you completed your 12th with PCB but didn’t have Mathematics , it might be challenging to pursue a B.Tech in Computer Science since most colleges require Maths in 12th.

However, you can explore options like:

  1. Bridging Courses : Some universities offer courses to help you meet the eligibility for Computer Science.

  2. Private Universities : Some institutions may have flexible admission criteria, allowing you to join B.Tech CSE without Maths in 12th.

  3. B.Sc. in Computer Science : If B.Tech isn't an option, you can pursue a B.Sc. in Computer Science and then go for a Master’s in Computer Applications (MCA) .

Check with specific universities for their eligibility requirements.

Hope this helps!

Can one get AI and Data science course for 177 cut off

Kishan Bhakat 8th May, 2025

Hi,

With a cutoff of 177 , getting a seat in AI and Data Science is tough, as most colleges have higher cutoffs for this branch.

You might want to explore other related fields like Computer Science or Information Technology , where the cutoffs may be lower.

Keep an eye on the TNEA counselling process to see if there are any changes or opportunities.

Hope this helps!

Paramedical science banglore only Harsha college is showing the other colleges is not showing why ?

Poludasari Akhila 21st Jul, 2025

1, Many colleges offer paramedical courses like BSc in Medical Lab Technology Radiology or OT but may not appear if not approved or screened yet

2, Harsha College shows because it is registered and has current data available for courses and fees

3, Others may be private or new and their data not yet added or awaiting verification by portal

4, This means only listed colleges like Harsha appear when you search in category filter

5, You can check official university lists or state board website for full list of colleges offering paramedical in Bangalore
