I want to join civil line and Want to become an IAS or PCS officer.. so which graduation degree. I choose for my future....

Neha Jain 24th Oct, 2018

Hi there.

For becoming an IAS officer one needs to write the UPSC examinations which require all-around knowledge of all subjects. Hence, there are various interesting subjects to choose from.

You should choose a field of graduation that you are passionate about, in which your interest lies, and something that helps you in your preparation of UPSC exams as well, you can opt for a BA in History, Geography or Political Science. Even a BSc/BA in economics would be great too.

Start your preparation from the very 1st year of graduation. Start with NCERT books of Class VI-XII of History, Geography, Economics, and Science.

Develop a habit of reading The Hindu daily and be updated with current affairs. Read the Yojana Magazine regularly.

For a proper book list and study schedule head to Unacademy's website (Roman Saini's lessons) and Mrunal's blog.

Hope this helps.

If you have target for Upsc exam than you can opt any of the these option as bachelor degree from arts or commerce

Pol science
History
Law
Psychology
Philosophy
Economics Hons
Sociology

But according.to me you should pursue professional degree as plan B if you are not able to crack the exam than you can start your career with the professional degree.

Can i get admission in MBA or IAS prepration after Plastic Diploma ?

Vikram 29th Apr, 2017
Dear

Diploma won't be counted as Bachelor degree . For MBA you should have bachelor degree or B.tech degree after diploma.

And for IAS i don't recommend this diploma .
You can check UPSC website and its syllabus accordingly you may opt degree related to their syllabus.
