which is the best graduate course that helps for upsc preparation is commerce and accountancy a good optional for upsc

pdwords Student Expert 11th Oct, 2020
Hello,

The eligibility criteria for UPSC is passed Bachelor's Degree in any discipline from a recognized university, hence there is no restriction in terms of belonging to any specific stream, people from various backgrounds such as Engineering, Medical, Commerce etc appear for UPSC CSE and qualify it as well, also you can have commerce and accountancy as your optional subject, so you can go ahead with this option, also when it comes to UPSC it's good to have a back up plan as well, and your course study will balance the both.

is iiit allahabad IT-BI will be more hectic than mnnit allahabad ece ? i also want to prepare for upsc so which one would be best for me?

Abhishek Roy 18th Nov, 2020

I believe MNNIT Allahabad being a NIT has a more student friendly and structured curriculum in ECE with quite a number of Electives like Economics and Humanities and Social Sciences as well as Management Subjects which indirectly might help you in your quest in UPSC. Having a larger batch with almost 10 Departments, you might find a good group including UG, PG and Ph.D students preparing for UPSC, which perhaps might just help you.

IIIT Allahabad is too a good institute, mainly focussed in Research and Development in Information Technology. In case you want to go for a Job post Graduation, do prefer IIIT A over MNNIT A, as it is one of the Top 10 Institutes in the Country at Par with Top IITs, BITS Pilani and NIT Trichy when it come to employer outlook and placements.

Hey Sonam,

For one to be able to apply for UPSC exam, you need to be a graduate in any field. You have passed in the 12th with 60% and overall result is pass, so you have to take an undergraduate course to complete graduation. After the Graduation, you can apply for the UPSC exam without any problem.

Good Luck with the Preparations !!!

I want short notes of ncert from class 6 to 12 for UPSC .

anshika.verma2019 5th Nov, 2020

Dear aspirant,

There are various telegram channels which provide short notes for NCERT you can join some of them and download the short notes from there. NCERT Books and Solutions is an app which not only provide latest and old books both of NCERT but also solutions and short notes of the chapters of NCERT in a systematic way. It also provides test papers. A series of app made by SUPERCOPS for different classes is also a nice app as it provides short notes of all the chapters of all the books of NCERT in a diagrammatic way. Various YouTube channels are also there which will explain the chapters of NCERT and help you learn them.

Hope this helps.

hloo sir Im Nida literally Im much confused towards my passion as Ive completed my 2pu so Im really interested to crack UPSC but Im not sure about my degree as Im a science student... so which degree is much preferred to go for IAS

Siddhi Shenoy 6th Oct, 2020

Hi Nida,

The UPSC examination is held for jobs inn the Indian Administrative Sector. For eligibility to  the examination, you need to have a Bachelor's Degree from a recognized Board or University. It is not mentioned what field it needs to be in, so you can go for any field of your preference.

As you have taken Science in your 10+2, you can go for Engineering(If you have Math), Medical(If you have Biology), Law, Humanities, Agriculture, etc. Honestly, no one can really tell you which field would be the best for you. That is a decision you should make.

Regardless, you should start researching History and keeping track of Current and World affairs as it will help you a lot for your UPSC journey.
