UPSC
Hello,
Yes, you can choose DSP.
Technical services (IPS, IPF, IRTS ) under upsc requires good eyesight and those who have eyesight problem can be corrected by spectacles
So since IPS is one of the technical services,
You are eligible as long as you have corrected the eye sight even by wearing specs
Many DSPs are wearing spectacles
So , eyesight is not a problem
You can join IPS
Hope it helps
Good luck!
First of all the syllabus of medical sciences is very vast and there will be some topics/subjects that you have never learned before so you will need to spend your time learning those new chapters. Also the kind of questions you get in MS(option) also makes it a bit tough like clinical part of Paper-2 would be more challenging for BHMS doctor. Moreover some questions which are asked are out of syllabus questions and quite a few questions from periferal areas. Hence it becomes difficult to handle. Also your competition will be from fellow MBBS students who have a considerable knowledge about the subject from beforehand, but for a BHMS student learning the basics of medical science only will take a lot of time unless you have a previous background of it.So I advice you against opting for it.
But if you are really passionate for taking Medical Science and are willing to remove the needful time from your schedule to study it you can go for it.But the above stated difficulties make it a lot tough for BHMS students to choose medical sciences as an optional.
All the best!
Hello there,
You can always prepare for any entrance examinations while you are in college. It may be GATE,UPSC,CAT,XAT etc.
UPSC and GATE are one of the most toughest examinations to crack in the country. Also the percentage of people qualifying in it is also very less.
Therefore,it is advised to you that you should always focus on one of the entrance examination you wish to suceed. Preparing for both may hamper your studies in your college as well as for the examination you are preparing for. At the end, it may not be beneficial for you.

Hope this may help you
Good Luck !
Dear Candidate,
If I may add a suggestion to you, kindly give a thought to Humanities too if you are trying for UPSC. Anyhow you will have to select your optional subject while you are preparing for the same. At that time, you can alter your optional as per the study you have done over the years.
Anyhow whichever branch you take, you will have to study regardless of the branch you invest time into. Think about how you will prepare for civil exams. Dividing the time of you will study everyday for 1 hour or 5-6 hours for civil services on weekends depends totally upon you. Divide your time & see if that works for you irrespective of the branch you take.

First of all there's no such restriction regarding belonging to any specific stream when it comes to UPSC, candidates from all the streams are allowed to appear for the exam, if we see the successful candidates of this exam they come from diverse academic backgrounds such as engineering, medical, CA, Law etc. Now, the thing is you can pursue any of the to field you have mentioned as per your preference, but if you're wholly and solely focused on cracking UPSC ahead in future integrated law program will be a really good option, you will study all the subjects concerning UPSC Exam and moreover you can choose your own field of study as optional subject, law is a scoring subject, availability of study materials too isn't an issue here. See, you can choose whatever field you want to, if you have any other aspirations besides UPSC you can follow that as well, there have been many people who come from engineering, medical field, they have had few years of work experiences after graduation and later on prepared for the exam and qualified it, and another important thing is the planning, preparation, strategy along with dedication, focus, determination are important for UPSC aspirants, and all these qualities are more of individual characteristics, it doesn't' come from belonging to particular field of work or study.
