Since you didn't specify the course, i'll just do the general comparison for these two institutions. I think Thapar institute of technology is better than LNM institute of technology. As, the NIRF ranking of these two universities differ greatly. Thapar also has an A+ accreditation against LNM with an A grading. The campus and infrastructure is also better at Thapar.

Actually your question is incomplete because you have not mentioned your reservation category. There are various reservation category and these categories are further subdivided into 3 parts, namely, General, Karnataka and Rural.

But with this rank you can't get a veterinary seat as last year admission closed at 9200 for Veterinary college, Shimoga under SCR category.

If it is about Staff Selection Comission (SSC) registration you can edit the passing year by following the steps as said. Go to the candidate login page and login using your credentials after logging in you can find Modify registration Option in home page click on that and your details are displayed click on edit option and you can change your year of passing. After changing the necessary details you can click save and submit it. You can modify your details only twice for every application that you applied in SSC website.

Hey dear, cutoff varies every year, if you see the last year's cutoff which went very high that even students getting 500 marks were unable to get a govt. Mbbs seat. So, with 440 marks if you belong to obc category, so it will be tough to get admission in govt. College for mbbs, although you can easily get bams and bhms. Yes you can repeat 10th standard if you are not satisfied with your result. But importance of 10th standard is not worth of wasting a year. Marks of 10th standard are used to take admission only in 11th standard and in some jobs there is criteria that you need to score 60% minimum in 10th standard so decide after thinking.
