Several medical colleges in India offer MBBS seats under the Defence Quota for children or dependents of defense personnel. Notable among them is the Army College of Medical Sciences (ACMS) in Delhi Cantt, which reserves most of its seats for wards of army personnel. The Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) Pune also offers MBBS admission through NEET but includes additional screening and is meant primarily for candidates aiming to serve in the armed forces. In states like Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, many government medical colleges reserve a small percentage (usually 1–10%) of their seats under the Defence Quota, which are filled through state counseling. Additionally, a few seats are also allotted at the national level through the Kendriya Sainik Board, under the Ministry of Defence. Eligible candidates must have qualified NEET and submit proper defense service certificates during admission.
To decide which college you should take admission in, consider the following key factors: your entrance exam rank or score, the course you’re interested in, your preferred location, and the college’s placement record and infrastructure. If you have a high score in a competitive exam like NEET, JEE, or CUET, aim for top government or central universities
Dear Candidate , Yes , you are eligible and have a reasonable chance of getting a seat through HPCET counseling, especially in colleges and branches where the cutoff is lower for ST candidates. Based on previous years trends and the current 2025 data , ST category candidates with similar or even lower scores have secured admission in government and affiliated private colleges in Himachal Pradesh , such as JNGEC and other HPTU- affiliated institutes. Final allotment will depend on the 2025 cutoffs , your preferences , and seat availability.
If you want to take admission for the D.El.Ed. (Diploma in Elementary Education) course in a specific college, you should first check if that college is recognized by NCTE (National Council for Teacher Education) and offers the D.El.Ed. program. Admission is usually based on merit or entrance exams conducted by the respective state education boards

when filling out your JoSAA college preferences, it’s important to list colleges in order of your desired branches and institutions. Priority should be given to top IITs (if eligible), followed by NITs like Trichy, Surathkal, Warangal, and Allahabad, especially for high-demand branches like CSE, ECE, or Mechanical. Next, consider newer IITs and reputed IIITs, followed by other NITs and GFTIs based on branch availability, placement records, and your category rank. Ensure that you fill choices from top to bottom according to preference, not expected cutoff, as JoSAA automatically considers your highest possible option based on merit.

hi,
Both NIT Surathkal Civil and RV College EEE are good, but your choice should depend on your interest and future plans.
If you want the NIT tag, a strong campus, and are thinking about higher studies or government jobs, NIT Surathkal Civil is a solid option. It may not have the highest private placements compared to other branches, but it gives you good long-term value.
If you are looking for better placement chances in the private sector and want to explore jobs in core companies or even IT, RV College EEE is a smart choice. EEE also gives you flexibility to move into software jobs if you learn some coding along the way.
With your AP EAMCET rank around 100,000 and being a BC-D female, getting into a top-tier private college for core computer branches like CSE or ECE will be very tough—that’s because most of those seats close much earlier.
However, there’s still hope for branches like Mechanical, Civil, and Electrical in well-known private colleges. Also, courses like Agricultural Engineering might still be options in some colleges. In addition, your BC-D and female reservation can open up slightly more opportunities in these branches.
To improve your chances, make sure you apply through every round of counselling, including spot admissions.
