Hi Candidate,

It's mentioned that a, b, c have speeds of 100 metres/sec, 80 metres/sec, and 50 metres/sec respectively. So as a takes a lead of 3 minutes =180 seconds, so the distance it will cover in 180 seconds equals to 100*180= 18000 metres= 18 kilometres.

So c will have to travel 18 kilometres with a speed of 50 metres/second, so the time needed will be equal to 18000/50 = 360 seconds which equals to 6 minutes. Hence, c will need 6 minutes to reach the distance which a has taken lead from.
