Hi there
Common Entrance Test or CETs are pretty much important.
A professional college in the country can admit only those students who have succeeded in the test. Institutes affiliated to state universities can admit candidates selected through CET. There are multiple options that a student can vie for after clearing Class XII exam, but every institute can admit only restricted number of students. Consequently, competition level of these entrance exams is set high, so only the deserving candidates are selected.
JEE – This is an all India level CET, conducted by CBSE to grant admission in the engineering or technical institutes like IIT’s and IIST.
BITSAT– It is an entrance test conducted by Birla Institute of Technology and Science for admission to various engineering streams.
AIPMT– This is a national level entrance exam administered by CBSE for admission into the country’s medical and dental colleges.
AIIMS – All Class XII science stream students are eligible to sit for the national level medical entrance exam conducted by All India Institute of Medical Sciences.
NATA– It is a country level National Aptitude Test in Architecture, conducted by the Government of India for admissions to architecture courses after Class XII.
NCHMCT– The admissions to various hotel management institutes of the country is managed by the National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology. All national, state and private hotel management colleges grant admission to only those students who qualify this test.
CLAT– The national law varsities deem only those students eligible for admissions to law courses who qualify the Common Law Admission Test.
NIFT test- National Institute of Fashion Technology conducts an entrance test at national level to allow entry to its design and fashion technology courses.
CPT– The governing body of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India conducts the Common Proficiency Test. The student who clears three levels of the test can work as an independent Chartered Accountant in future.
Hope this helps. Good luck!
