Hello Dear Student,
For a student taking a drop
primarily to improve Class 12 marks and meet the 75% criterion for JEE/JoSAA
,
CBSE Private Candidate
is often the simpler and more straightforward option if you are already from the CBSE board.
- Same CBSE curriculum and exam pattern.
- No regular school attendance required.
- Previously awarded practical marks are typically carried forward for eligible improvement candidates as per CBSE rules.
- Seamless acceptance in JEE Main , JoSAA , CSAB , IITs , NITs , IIITs , and GFTIs.
- Easier transition because the syllabus remains familiar.
NIOS
- Flexible learning system.
- Widely recognized and accepted for JEE Main and JoSAA admissions.
- May require a different examination structure and subject planning compared to CBSE.
- Suitable for students who need greater flexibility or do not wish to continue under CBSE.
- Do not enroll in two boards simultaneously for the same qualification , as this can create eligibility and documentation issues.
- Both CBSE and NIOS are recognized, but if your sole objective is improving marks while preparing for JEE, continuing within the CBSE system is often more convenient.
Hope it helps!
