hi britt, you still have 5 months time and if you work smart, you can really score well easily, i will tell you how to prepare
Physics and chemistry- physics is considered one of the toughest subject for medical aspirants, but very interesting. choose any good book of your convinience, there are plenty of good books as many mentioned already. read the concepts thoroughly, understand them cover to cover, if you have doubts, clear them then and there. solve atleast 300 to 500 questions per chapter, check ,analyse and rectify your mistakes. solve again. the more you solve the merrier.initially you wont be getting many correct answers, but as you keep on doing am sure you will see your score rising. solve previous question papers too
Hi Britt O Dominic
Here are the way how you can start studying smartly for NEET (mainly physics and chemistry)
- Introspect yourself :- make a checklist that what you know already and what you have to know for the NEET. Go through the syllabus once and check your level, that from where you have to start.
- Plan the Journey :- After Introspecting, Start from the very basic and plan out the journey for the whole syllabus a set some deadline for yourself so that you can progress in a pre defined manner.
- Never Give Up :- It is the golden rule to achieve the goal. Build up yourself and your confidence not to give up even in the hardest situation. THink positive, talk to positive people, ask queries, make mistakes and learn from all these things. Stand by your decision and motivate yourself time to time.
Here are Some GOLDEN tips for the preparation of NEET
- Firstly, gather all the details about the officially prescribed syllabus for the examination.
- Make a proper time-table for your preparations.
- Follow the time table strictly and increase your potential day by day.
- Consider the good preparation books and study materials.
- Practice mock test & previous year question papers.
- Make mistakes while practising, and correct them and never repeat them.
- Never give up even at your low time.
- Stay stress free & healthy while preparing for exams.
- Don’t try to include new topics at the end of preparations.
All the best
This requires practice on a regular basis and most importantly identification of your weaker areas in both the subjects.
If you're already taking coaching to aid your preparations, make the most of it. Seek help from your mentors and get all your doubts and conceptual lags clarified. There is no perfect time for getting your doubts clarified, it is right now or as soon as possible.
Consistency in your efforts will bring you results. Make a realistic schedule and most importantly stick to it. Working like a bull one day and like a slug the next will only bring disappointment.
When you are in the classroom, ensure that your attention stays undiverted, because over 50% of your preparation for that very day will happen in the classroom itself if you concentrate. Avoid procrastinating and never put off things for tomorrow.
Most importantly, believe in the fact that whatever you are doing will fetch you what you want.
1) read NCERT without fail ( maintain notes especially for organic chemistry like a list of all special reactions )
2) make flashcards with formulas and a representative diagram along with it
3) try to learn organic compounds especially chemistry in everyday life with diagrams of polymers ( circle for benzene , make specs shape etc and try to name it )
4) for physics solve h.c. Verma ( beautiful representation especially for mechanics and force )
5) do a lot of worksheets ( will help u combine concepts )
6) make your own formulas for routinely asked questions
7) solve high weightage chapters routinely
8) solve while traveling etc too easy chapters
9) use time efficiently
10) sleep adequately
11) I had this technique ( it worked for me) everytime I entered the kitchen , room , bathroom etc I used to say a specific reaction or formula .. That way I could revise without books , without any stress ... If I forget I used to go n check it then only ..
All the best !

The best books you can refer to are the NCERT,
For biology, refer the following.
1) Trueman's Biology vol 1 and vol 2
2) Dinesh- Objective biology
3) Pradeep publication Biology
4) GRB'S Publication Biology.
For Physics refer to he following books.
1) H.C.Verma - Concepts of Physics.
2) D.C Pandey - Objective Physics.
3) Fundamentals of physics by Walker
4) Problems in Physics by I.E.Irodov
For chemistry you can refer the following books
1) O.P Tandon - Physical Chemistry
2) Morrison and Boyd - Organic Chemistry
3) Modern ABC's of chemistry
4) J.D.Lee Inorganic chemistry
5) Dinesh
Ncerts are mandatory to have, refer the rest of the books and find out which one suits you. I would advice you not to buy all the books but to refer them and see which one is better for you.
In the end it doesn't depend upon which book is better but how good can you understand the concepts
Also, for the general knowledge subscribe magazines, they will be useful.
Hope this helps.
Goodluck!
