huygen's principle of an wave front
1)Secondary sources from their own wavelets that are similar to that if primary waves.
2) The wavefront is the sun of spherical wavelets.
3) At any given point in time, the common tangent on the wavelets in the forward direction gives new wavefront.
Huygen's Principle, suggests each point of a wave front is a source of secondary disturbance and the wavelets emanating from these points spread out in all directions with the speed of the wave. The envelope of this wavelets gives the shape of the new wave front.
If you are a UG student of Physics, you may consider reading the book Optics by Ajoy Ghatak page 12.2 for more references.
If you are a 10+2 student, then you can consider your text book or HCV or Haliday resnick for more insights.
I hope this answer helps. All the very best for your future endeavors!
