I'm persuing in political science Hons 2nd year I'm eligible for clat? There is any minimum required marks in graduation for clat? Age?
Hello
Candidates must have passed a recognised board or institution's Class 12 (10+2) or equivalent examination.
CLAT 2022 is open to candidates who will be taking the qualifying test in March/April 2022. Candidates who fail to present proof of their educational qualification during the CLAT counselling and admission procedure will have their admission terminated.
The Common Law Admission Test is open to anybody of any age.
Candidate must have received at least a 55 percent grade in high school.
(Sc/ST/OBC/PD candidates receive 50%.)
You may absolutely apply for the admission test if you have obtained the necessary qualifying marks (55 percent) in graduation, as there is no age limit for PG programmes in Law.
Hope this help
Dear Sachin ,
Great to know that you are pursuing BA (H) Pol Sc. Actually, Political Science is one of my favourite subjects. And was also glad to know that you are interested in a career in law.
Now while answering your query, let me help you out with some basic domain knowledge.
Given the fact that CLAT, the Common Law Admission Test is a national-level law entrance exam for beginning a career in law at 19 National Law Universities (NLUs) that offer five-year integrated law programmes for which the minimum educational qualification is a 12th board-passing certificate.
Now, when you already are in the Graduation 2nd year, I don't think that it'll be logical for you to go for the five-year integrated law programme. What you can do is to complete your Graduation with the beautiful BA (H) Political Science programme and then sit for the LLB entrances conducted by a number of universities including Delhi University, Banaras Hindu University, Allahabad University, etc.
This will not only help your 2 years but with a complete understanding of Political Science subject at the graduation level, you can get a better hold of LLB programme for which Graduation is a must.
I hope this brings more clarity to your decision. In case, you have further doubts regarding this, feel free to counter-question me and I'll definitely help you with them.
Keep questioning as it's the best tried and tested method to know more. It's also the easiest way to know as you only have to ask the questions, when the world is ready to answer them.
Thank you!
