As per my knowledge no it's not needed to have sanskrit in class 12th for bams course.
It's not mandatory to have it even in class 10th.
But since bams is all about learning ancient medicine of India one needs to have knowledge of sanskrit for better understanding. In addition you may also have a language exam for the same in first prof.
