my ews certificate will take 7 more days. what will happen if I select EWS instead lf general category

Dear Rehman, you haven't mentioned which entrance exam are we talking about. For most entrance examinations like CAT, there is a prescribed format that you need to download from the official website, fill it up and upload it after the necessary attestations. In such cases, you do not need an original Caste Certificate. But if the application form demands an original caste certificate, please check if the application form has a correction window where you can change your Category. If it allows you to change your Category in the correction window, please go ahead and select EWS as your Category and during the Correction window if you still don't get the documents handy, you can change your Category. If both the options are not a possibility, then select EWS as your Category. If you cannot produce your Category certificate atleast by the time of counselling you will be considered as General Category.
