No percentile is not based on the catagory.it is basically the percentage of candidates that have scored equal or below.Percentile have been calculated as follows:
(100 * number of candidates appeared in the exam with score equal to or less than the candidate) / totla number of candidates

Hey,
The percentile you have received is not based on category or quota. It' s the marks that you have scored in JEE Main.
